OOWF MidWeek Mayhem
Live! From Pontiac, Michigan
Power & Glory vs. The Pontiac ExcitementFirebird and Starfire enter the ring to the soundtrack of an old Pontiac commercial (
youtu.be/zERjM-S1EV0 ) accompanied by the UAWWF president Bob King and their valet Tempest. While the hometown boys usually get a good reaction, the fact that the Excitement hadn't appeared in the USA since 2010 seems to have them on the heelish side.
Power and Glory appear to the strains of...Jessica Simpson? (
youtu.be/ahDg0kQxTtI ) Despite the unusual musical selection it seems to fit as Power and Glory come out with their manager Wyatt Cox. They all take the time to go around the ring slapping hands and dancing with the fans. Once the women get into the ring with Wyatt it's obvious that this will be a mismatch because at 5-11, the girls and Wyatt tower over their much smaller opponents. Wyatt makes a comment about competing against sub-compact models which gets the ire of King who insists that Wyatt leave the area. He points out that he's the manager of these woman and he has as much of a right to be there as he does.
Eventually the extraneous parties get out of the ring and Glory and Starfire start for their respective teams. Starfire tries to back Glory into his corner, but his Slant-6 is underpowered and can't move the taller Glory who hip tosses him into his own corner. Bob King is incensed and complaining to the official about illegal components. The official reminds King this is wrestling, not racing. Firebird tags himself in and attempts the lockup but then ducks under and tries planting some fists into the midsection of Glory, which backs her into the ropes. Firebird tries to whip Glory into the ropes but she reverses it and tags in Power. Glory then hits the speeding Firebird with a POWERSLAM, then rolls under the ropes while Power leaps to the top and executes a flawless 450—TWIN SPIN. Power reaches for the tag, then stands up the dazed Firebird for a DOUBLE ELIMINATION! Glory politely helps Firebird to his corner and helps him tag in Starfire who wants nothing to do with this team, but gets in at the exhortation of Bob King. Starfire tries the old ring crisscross and after a couple of runs Glory stops and watches Starfire keep running until he runs out of gas. King is furious until Starfire hits Glory with the Greco-Roman eye poke and backs Glory into his corner. It's four-on one in the corner with Firebird, Starfire, Tempest and King all taking their shots at the young rookie while referee Junior Hale does his part to keep Power from interfering.
The Excitement gets their lone shot at a victory when they try their Double Clutch finisher, but the execution breaks down and Glory is able to get across the ring for the hot tag!
Finally the match breaks down into a four way schmozz as Power and Glory send Firebird packing after a double dropkick and Power picks him up and press slams him over the top rope and into Bob King and Tempest! Power picks up Starfire in a delayed vertical suplex and Glory follows with the Shooting Star Press-TWIN PLEX! But rather than go for the pin the Girls look to the audience and holds up one finger. They audience approves, so they pick up a dazed Starfire, pat him on the cheek, then hit DOUBLE ELIMINATION! The cover by Glory is academic and this one is over!
WINNERS in 4:01 – Power and Glory
Tempest and Bob King come in to tend to their fallen colleague, and while King rolls Starfire out of the ring, Tempest gets Head to...chest with Power. Tempest then tries to explain to the girls that she is Number One...with the wrong fingers... Glory taps Tempest on the shoulder and slaps the taste out of her mouth, the girls nod, then hit DOUBLE ELIMINATION on Tempest. This brings Bob King into the ring. He goes straight to Wyatt Cox and begins arguing that his team was being abusive to his team. Wyatt just smiles until King slaps Wyatt. Wyatt strokes his face and starts to leave the ring until King grabs him and pulls him back into the ring and slaps him again. Wyatt shakes his head, then goes after King with chops and strikes and – OMG, a Superkick? King staggers back to the center of the ring and directly into a DOUBLE ELIMINATION!
Power and Glory and Wyatt stand among the carnage in the ring and raise each other's hands. It looks like Wyatt has been working out more with Power and Glory.
Stan Fulton & Mai Muyo vs. Awesome Bill & Justin SaneBill and Justin are introduced first, and they come out wearing vendor trays as passing put Pine Cone Party Likker to the crowd. Stan and Mai are down next and look to be all business. We get Justin and Mai to start and Mai quickly has Justin Tied in a tree of woe on the turnbuckles, she backs up and hits a sick dropkick to the jaw. Justin slumps to the mat and Mai covers pretty loosely for 2. Justin crawls away, but Stan has tagged in and begins to lay a beat down on Sane. Stan hits a high delay vertical suplex on Justin and follows up with a jumping leg drop. Somehow, Justin is up before 3 and again crawls towards Bill, who has gotten the crowd to clap along with him to encourage his partner. Stan drags him by the leg back to the opposite side and tags in Mai. Justin ducks, Mai’s kick hits Stan, and JS rolls to his corner. HOT TAG to Bill, and he comes in trading punches with Mai. She gets knocked back to her corner and tags Fulton back in. Bill locks up with his NASCAR buddy. Irish whip, and a nice back elbow sends Stan to one knee. Bill follows up with a running knee lift that echoes through the arena. Stan goes down, and Mai runs back in to catch Bill from behind with an Enziguri. Mai hits Bill with a couple of stiff kicks, then sets up for… The Endgame!. Bill reverses it and connects with a big running bulldog! He points to the crowd and they roar their approval… and he goes up top. FREEBIRD!!...... NOBODY HOME! Mai rolls out of the way just in time and tags in Crusher. Fulton lifts Bill in a bear hug, Mai hits the ropes and delivers a Hart Attack clothesline. Fulton lands on Bill and gets the 3 count. WINENR, in 7:02, Stan Fulton & Mai Muyo
El Lobo Sangriento vs. J-P SparxxSparxx gets the heel boos, and Lobo gets the face pop. No love lost here either, as they get into the ring. Lobo is feeling wolfy and gives a wink to Jewel, which does not sit well with Sparxx, and as soon as the bell rings, Sparxx lets him know with a whole bunch of punches driving him back into the corner. The referee interferes and Sparxx backs off at four, giving Lobo room to do a very nice Flair-chop (WOOOOOOOO!) onto Sparxx's chest. Sparxx falls back like he's been shot giving Lobo time for some offense. It kind of goes back and forth like this, with each wrestler putting a good chain of offense together, before being countered by the other, who then takes control. Sparxx tosses Lobo to the corner, and then runs in for Bad Moon Rising, knocking Lobo loopy. Sparxx takes him down with a drop toe hold and rolls him over for the pin, and one, two, no! Sparxx gets up, instructs the referee on how to count to two and starts putting the boots to Lobo, but Lobo grabs a foot and yanks Sparxx off balance. He gets to his feet, and does a couple of elbow drops onto Sparxx's leg, runs the ropes and does a final elbow drop, then goes for a quick pin, of only a one count. Both men get to their feet, and have a few more offense/defense exchanges, but Lobo seems to be getting the better of Sparxx. Lobo whips him into the corner, and then follows up with a splash. Another toss into the ropes, but Sparxx comes out with a clothesline. He stands Lobo up and then kicks him in the gut, bending him over. He is trying to go for the Gem Driver, but Lobo is able to wriggle free. Lobo gets to his feet, and in doing so backdrops Sparxx. Sparxx counters with a sunset flip and roll through but they keep rolling and Lobo gets Sparxx in roll up. One....two...THREE! Winner, in 10:02, El Lobo Sangriento
Attitude Adjuster vs. Chris EvansEvans comes out to the predictable boos. Attitude Adjuster comes out to cheers, which still kind of confuses him a bit, and he seems to ask the Cardboard Cutout of Johnny Adrenaline about it, but CCJA is stoic. They appear to be having a rather one sided conversation as the referee and Evans both try to get AA into the ring. He waves them off while talking at least twice, and then the third time, when the referee threatens to start counting, AA gets in the ring and we get the bell. For a change, AA actually seems to wrestle a bit and he and Evans do a nice bit of opening exchange, before Evans decides to kick it up a notch. He dominates AA with a bit of rope work, before finally catching him off the ropes in a release dragon suplex. He floats over for almost a two-count. AA kicks out and then rolls out to confer strategy with CCJA. He rolls back in at about six and flips through the pages of an imaginary rule book. Evans stares at him for a minute and then locks up, but AA was employing some trickery here, and transitions deftly into The Attitude Adjustment DDT! The crowd goes surprisingly wild for this, and AA goes for the pin, and gets about one-and-a-half. He may have been confused by the crowd, as he looks around in surprise. And happiness. But Evans is not happy and gets to his feet, kicks AA (who is still on his knees) in the head, and then a Shining Wizard. AA is knocked loopy, and Evans capitalizes with Icarus Wings. He goes for the pin one, two....THREE! WINNER, in 8:57, Chris Evans
After the match, Evans is celebrating to boos as he leaves. When AA finally gets to his feet, he's surprised by the applause from the crowd, and starts toward the ramp, even getting a couple of high fives, when he realizes he's forgotten CCJA, and goes back to get him. The high fives continue all the way up the ramp.
Texpress vs. The Devils BrigadeThe bell rings, and we get Chad and Tommy to start. Russ and Razz note how similarly these teams are constructed. A 300+ pound power wrestler, and a lighter, more technical guy. Should make for an interesting match. Chad tries using his agility to gain control, but O’Neil is sound enough to keep him grounded and we get several minutes of indy-wanker pleasing chain wrestling. Tommy locks in an abdominal stretch, and Chad turns it into a hip toss. He hits the ropes, and hits a flying forearm to send Tommy to the mat. Chad pops up and tags in Zane, who rushes in and scoops TO up for a power slam. TO backs into his corner and Harper comes in. We get the big men to lock up and a test of strength. Zane gets backed into the corner, and Harper breaks at 2, then pops Zane in the jaw with a right hand. Zane barrels out of the corner and clotheslines Harper to the mat. Tag to Chad, who vaults over the rope and lands a leg drop. Harper tosses Chad off at 1, and tries to bully him into the opposing corner, Chad has none of that and leg sweeps HC to the mat and hits a springboard moonsault. Chad backs up as Tommy tags in, and To gets a quick advantage and hits 3 rolling German Suplexes. Tommy tries to hit a Lung Blower, but Chad grabs the legs and twists into a Boston Crab. Harper comes in and nails Chad, Zane spears him through the ropes, and Chad pops TO with a superkick. Zane climbs back in, as does HC, Harper tags in and is met with a lightning quick DOUBLE DROPKICK! Zane covers and we have a winner. WINNER, in 11:30, Texpress
After the bell, Chad and Zane help The Devils Brigade to their feet and offer handshakes, but they are rejected as Harper and Tommy sulk away from the ring. Chad and Zane hold up 5 fingers (4 and a thumb if you want to be picky) to show they have 5 more wins to go.
Ricky Soaring Eagle vs. Matt FolzFolz is out first, and the crowd is...strangely silent. Huh. Not so much for Ricky Soaring Eagle as they're pretty clear with the boos, except for a loyal group of hardcore shoot wrestling fans (who may or may not be the same as Firewoman's fan club). Eagle takes the ring like a house afire, but Folz is ready. He catches Eagle, who wasn't anticipating much resistance, and Fisherman Suplexes him right over. The referee calls for the bell as Folz wastes no time going for the ankle lock. He yanks hard, but Eagle does the obvious counter and rolls over kicking Folz in the...well, the LOW stomach area, but not quite a low blow. Folz falls over and Eagle hits the ropes for a Thesz press, raining forearms and MAYBE the occasional punch sneaks in there. Folz does everything he can to block and finally gets an opening for a European uppercut of his own to Eagle's chin, giving him just enough room to toss Eagle off him. A clinic of stiff wrestling moves, punches, leg drops when one gets down, and various other things occurs, back and forth. Folz hits Eagle so hard that he hits him very hard, and sprawls Eagle to the mat. Folz sees opportunity to go up top and takes it, climbing to the turnbuckle, and posing for a bit. A bit too long it turns out, as when he leaps off to go for the Top Rope Diving Head-butt, Eagle is ready. Folz misses and Eagle leaps over him and puts him in the Cactus Thorn! Eagle grinds his knee into the back of Folz's head for good measure. Folz makes a valiant effort to reach the ropes, but no dice. Folz has no choice but to tap. WINNER, in 8:21, Ricky Soaring Eagle.
Danny Taylor vs. Rabbit Mask – Non Title matchDanny comes out with Victor to a chorus of cheers that turn instantly to boos when Rabbit Mask makes his entrance. Victor doesn't appear to trust Rabbit as far as he could throw him, and of course neither does Danny, but Victor makes a bigger deal about. Rabbit taunts Victor with an obscene gesture; no handshakes here! Danny doesn't take kindly to this and shoves Rabbit into the ropes and we're off. Danny expertly man-handles...or is that Rabbit-handles...Rabbit around the ring, with arm drags and big moves designed to keep Rabbit off balance, and it appears to be working. He tosses Rabbit into the ropes and then whips him to the turnbuckle. Rabbit hops to the up and tries to turn into a cross body, but Danny catches him and hits a T Bone suplex rolling him up. Rabbit kicks out at two and gives Danny a thumb to the eye, which the referee doesn't see because Rabbit's positioned himself in the way. As Danny struggles to get up, Rabbit hits the ropes and flies out with a missile drop kick that actually does kick Danny out of the ring. Rabbit sizes things up, goes to the far ropes, slingshots off and flies...SUICIDE PLANCHA. Both men crash into the barricade. Rabbit is up first and grabs a chair. As he heads toward Danny, who is still not sure what state we're in, Victor comes around behind Rabbit. The crowd cheers this, but does then alert Rabbit, who turns around and threatens Victor with the chair. That's a bad move because Danny's recovered now and grabs Rabbit by the shoulder and flips him around. He gives him the Hulk Hogan finger wave, before grabbing the chair and tossing it into the ring. He kicks Rabbit in the gut, and then headlocks him and drags him up the apron, flipping him over into the ring. Danny himself makes a rare rope move and hits an elbow drop off the top rope, covering for two. Rabbit gets to his feet slowly and then he and Danny have a bit of a hockey fight, and then Rabbit ducks a punch and then doubles Danny over with some Rabbit punches (heh) and finally a DDT. He goes for pin but gets two. He turns away from Danny and looks like he's putting something in his mouth. Victor jumps up on the ramp to alert the official. The referee pauses a moment to listen to all Victor's complaints, putting them in order from most to least serious. The referee turns around and asks Rabbit to open his mouth. Rabbit does and it appears to be all clear, so the referee goes to explain the situation to Victor. Rabbit grabs Danny around the neck and hits the RABBIT DRIVER 2012...RIGHT ON THE CHAIR! He rolls Danny off the chair, and while Victor is pointing, makes the pin. NOW the referee turns around..one...two....THREE!! Winner, in 14:22, Rabbit Mask
After the match, Victor is livid and climbs under the ropes to argue with Rabbit. Rabbit smiles at him and then all of sudden...WHITE MIST!! Victor drops like a stone, but since it's after the match....nothing the referee can do. Rabbit bails before Danny realizes what happened.
Ghosthead vs. Crowing vs. Comrade Sharkoff – OOWF Onslaught Title MatchThe bell rings and none of the three men move an inch. They look back and forth at each other. Sharkoff cracks first and bull rushes Crowing. Crowning side steps him and sends Sharkoff over the top rope to the floor. Ghosthead grabs Crowing and hits a fall away slam. They lock up while Sharkoff slides in the ring at 17. He clubs GH on the back as he worked over Crowing’s leg. GH tosses Sharkoff in to the ropes, and nails him with a stiff kick to the gut. Sharkoff goes down, and Crowing pops up to hit a seated dropkick to Comrade. Ghost and Crowing take turns pulsing Sharkoff to his feet and dropping him with high-impact kicks and strikes. Crowing tosses CS into GH, and GH plants him with a bridging German suplex for a quick 2 count. Crowing has to break up the fall, and he and GH end up trading moves for the next few minutes, with neither man gaining a real edge. Crowing bulldogs Ghost, then out of nowhere, Sharkoff rushes in and levels him with a RUSSIAN SICKLE! Sharkoff tries for a cover, but GH is there to break it up immediately. Ghosthead hits a Phantasmagoria on Sharkoff and has him trapped, but Crowing is up to break it up, landing a sweet moonsault onto the champion. Sharkoff rolls to the corner and Crowing follows up on Ghosthead with a running knee to the back of the head, then hoists him up for a brainbuster! He connects, when suddenly, Sharkoff is pinning Ghost! 1…2…NO! Crowing realizes it just in time to pull Sharkoff off, then pulls him up for a Raven’s Wings! Ghosthead rushes from behind and clotheslines Crowing’s head nearly off! Sharkoff gets tossed to the floor again, and Ghosthead plants Crowing with a spine buster, then goes up top and hits the Spectre’s Fall for the win. WINNER, in 16:39, Ghosthead!
Flyin’ Hawaii’ans vs. Phoenix Rising – OOWF World Tag Team Title TLC Match**OOWF World Tag Team Championship TLC**
The Flyin’ Hawaiians © w/Noelani vs. Phoenix RisingIt’s time for the co-main event as the tag team titles are going to be on the line in what should be a thrilling Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match commonly known as TLC. The two teams involved have a long history with one another and issues over the past few weeks have definitely gotten way more hostile starting with the Hawaiians role in the attack that ended Davin Moreland’s career and continuing with a war of words that has flared up between the two teams from time to time. Coming out first to A Perfect Circle’s “Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums” are the married team of Alexander Darling and Firewoman, collectively known as Phoenix Rising. Alex and Fire head out onto the ramp in their DEA Jerseys and hoodies before rushing down the aisle and sliding under the bottom rope in unison. They test out the ropes and look around the ringside area noticing the plethora of tables and ladders and chairs to be used during the match. Fire and Alex remove the hoodies and start to stare down the aisle as the Hawaiian tribal music starts and Kai and Aina come out to do their ritual war dance and as the dance finishes, Noelani joins them along with the playing of “Machinehead” by Bush and here come the Hawaiians down to the ring. The Hawaiians meet Phoenix Rising in the center of the ring and the 4 lock eyes and begin their trash talking to one another.
Once the pushing and shoving starts, Davis Hightower calls for the bell and he joins Junior Hale on the outside and we are underway here. The titles are hanging high over the ring as Kai and Alex begin throwing punches and Aina and Fire head to the other side of the ring and begin a chain wrestling sequence. Kai and Alex’s punches take them down to the mat and they roll to the outside and continue their brawl around the ringside area. Assume lots of awesome spots involving chairs and the boost they can give both Kai and Alex as they fly around the ringside area. Running headscissors, flying armdrags, and rolling leg lariats are thrown by both men and the crowd is enjoying the brutality of those two as well as the talent and technique of the two combatants inside the ring. Because Fire and Aina are putting on quite the exhibition as they show the world exactly what both are capable when it comes to pure wrestling. Strikes and counter-strikes, moves and reversals, Fire’s athleticism compared to Aina’s dedication to crisp technique and the crowd is eating it up and giving them big cheers.
Back to the floor and Alex looks like he has the edge on Kai at the moment as he clears a section of the crowd and sets Kai up on a chair. Alex hops over the guardrail and onto the apron to get a running start. AD takes the giant leap but there’s no one home as Kai scatters out of the way and Darling crashes hard into the chairs. Kai throws a few kicks for good measure to make sure Alex stays down before jumping over the barricade and sliding a table into the ring behind where Fire and Aina are still putting on a wrestling classic. Fire reverses an Irish whip that almost sends Aina crashing into his brother but he puts the brakes on at the last second to avoid the collision, but Fire wants to see that collision as she comes up behind both and smashes their heads together…uh oh, you can’t do that to Hawaiians and they prove that point with the double headbutt to Fire that sends her rolling backwards.
Kai heads over to Fire and they start trading strikes as Aina finishes setting up the table. Fire is still woozy from the headbutt giving Kai the edge as he starts to light Fire up with vicious knife hand chops. Aina yells over that the table is ready and Kai begins the whip of Fire and Aina sets up a boost that he hopes will put Fire through the table but the boost has too much power behind it and Fire lands on the very top of the table with incredible balance. Aina tries to reach up to grab Fire, but she backflips into the center of the ring and nails Kai with a SUPERKICK. Aina charges and gets taken down with a drop toe-hold into Kai. The Hawaiians are in trouble as they use the ropes to help themselves to their feet. Aina’s up first and charges Fire once again and this time she grabs him around the waist and looks to be trying to go up and over and send Aina through the table, but he’s got that blocked and they seem to be at a stalemate. Meanwhile, Kai’s finally back to his feet as well and he gets a running start…SPEAR through the table with his brother and Fire in tow and Kai is back to his feet. He sacrificed his brother there to take Fire out of the equation and get a chance to grab he belts. Noelani is nothing if not useful and she slides a ladder into the ring as Kai starts to set it up in the center of the ring and he begins the typical wrestling slow climb. Aina still has Fire contained in the corner and this could be a quick end to Phoenix Rising’s dream of tag team gold. Kai’s about halfway up when there is a roar from the crowd and Alexander Darling is on the apron. Kai notices and starts to take another step up the ladder, but first he has to catch the chair Alex has thrown his way…oops, that was a mistake. SPRINGBOARD VAN DARLINGATOR and Kai and Alex go crashing to the mat.
And that’s how the next portion of the match goes. We get some isolation of Kai or Aina by Phoenix Rising or some isolation of Alex and Fire by the Hawaiians to give a chance for someone on the team to begin their trek up the ladders, but before they get close enough, someone is always there to drag them off or knock the ladder off balance and we start the cycle once again. The crowd has loved every second of this and both teams are leaving everything on the table. All four wrestlers are down and in opposite corners as they slowly drag themselves to their feet and they all shake the cobwebs loose as they charge to the center of the ring, Fire meets up with Kai as Alex meets up with Aina and we once again get a dual show of what these four can do when pushed.
Now it’s Fire and Kai crashing to the floor hard and Fire looks like her ribs land right on the apron and as the world knows those have always been a target for Fire’s opponents. Kai crashes into the metal barricade but he avoids true harm on the floor. Back inside the ring, Alex has Aina up in the air…SLINGSHOT BRAINBUSTA. Alex looks to continue the offense as he locks up Aina’s legs, but Kai fights off the pain and gets back into the ring behind Alex and he jumps up…DRAGONRANA and Alex’s head slams hard into the mat. Kai’s the only one on his feet once again and he sets up one ladder in one corner and slides to the floor to slide another ladder in. He sets that ladder up in the opposite corner and then he helps Aina to his feet and motions to the ladders. Kai lands two quick successive legdrops to Alex as Aina climbs one ladder and now Kai climbs the other…it looks like they’re going for MOONS OVER MAUI and Fire is still grabbing her ribs on the outside and doesn’t look like she’ll be able to get in the ring to make the save. But what she can do is slide a chair into the ring right to Alexander’s hand. AD might night have a big clue where he is but he does grab the chair and he’s able to roll out of the way of Kai’s splash before nailing Aina with the chair.
And all 4 wrestlers are down once again as they are giving all they have to leave tonight as OOWF World Tag Team Champions. Fire drags herself to her feet on the outside and grabs another table to slide it into the ring as she slowly climbs in after it. She starts to set the table up, but Kai’s back to his feet first and spins Fire around and nails her with a thunderous elbow that rocks her jaw. Fire spins around and lands in perfect position as Kai nails a LUNGBLOWER, but he doesn’t let go as Aina climbs the ladder once again and this time they are able to nail the BROKEN PALM. Aina is back to his feet and starts to grab for the ladder but he’s blasted in the face with a SUPERKICK from Alex that sends him crashing to the floor. Alex stays on the attack as he starts striking away at Kai with some vicious karate strikes. He backs Kai into the corner as Fire slowly gets back to her feet. Alex finishes with some knees to Kai’s midsection before whipping him towards Fire who nails a spinning back kick that bends Kai over before reaching over and lifting him up and spinning around…VOODOO DROP and she rolls Kai right over into Alexander’s waiting hands and he lifts Kai up…RUNNING BUCKLE BOMB and Kai is in trouble as he rolls towards the center of the ring. Alex nods at Fire and she nods back as she gets a running start towards Alex and he boosts and throws her so high in the air…FIREBOMB aka Double Moonsault lands flush on Kai.
This could be the opportunity Phoenix Rising has been waiting for. Fire starts to drag one of the ladders towards the center of the ring as Alex rolls Kai to the floor, but that leaves an opportunity on the other side of the ring and Aina springboards onto the ladder and he’s already above Fire and closer to the belts. She notices this and starts reaching through the ladder to try and slow down Aina. Alex drags another ladder over and starts to climb up the same side of his ladder that Aina is on his. But before Alex can reach over and grab Aina, he uses a great deal of athleticism and slides between to the ladders onto Fire’s side and before she can even react, Aina has her up on his shoulders facing the sky…BURNING HAMMER off the ladder and the crowd starts chanting “Holy Shit.” Alex looks up and sees the titles so close and then sees his wife on the mat in serious pain and Alex makes what some will call a stupid decision and he jumps off the ladder to check on Fire. Aina slowly gets back to his feet and notices Alex checking on Fire and senses the opportunity and starts to climb the ladder.
Fire starts to come through and looks past Alex and notices Aina climbing and she shoves Alex off and points up to the ladder. Aina is close enough to start touching the belts but now Alex is climbing behind him and starts punching away at his back. Fire is slowly back to her feet as well and she meets Kai coming back into the ring on the opposite side and they start climbing the second ladder in unison with Alex and Aina. Aina is trying to kick away at Alex but he avoids those blows and is finally able to remove Aina’s hand from the ladder and he slams Aina’s head repeatedly into the metal of the ladder and even the hard heads of the Hawaiian can’t handle a lot of that and Aina is in trouble as Alex lifts him onto his shoulders and places Aina’s hand across his own throat. Meanwhile Kai looks to be getting the edge on Fire as his strikes have more power behind them at the moment, but Fire notices Alex grabbing Aina and it seems to grant her a second or third wind and before Kai notices what is happening Fire is lifting Kai onto her shoulders and placing Kai’s hand across his own throat…DUAL DARLING DRIVERS off the ladder and the crowd goes nuts. Kai and Aina are down and Fire helps Alex up and the Darlings begin the long slow climb to the top. Rung by rung. Inch by inch they get closer and closer. Kai and Aina are barely stirring but it’s going to be a little too late, Fire and Alex unhook the belts together…
Your winners in 27:33 and NEW OOWF WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS
ALEXANDER DARLING, FIREWOMAN
PHOENIX RISINGThe crowd is going nuts as Fire and Alex hug at the top of the ladders and hold the titles close to their hearts. They slowly begin to climb down and get back to the ring and they meet Kai and Aina who are just getting to their feet as well and holding each other up. It looks like words are being exchanged but after what these four have gone through for the last 30 minutes none of them seem in the mood for anything of a more physical nature. They finish their little talk and Alex is the first to make a move and he extends his hand. Fire doesn’t seem that thrilled with it but she nods and waits to see what happens next. Kai and Aina take a long look at the hand and then at one another as they seemingly try to decide what to do next, but before they can decide, there’s a roar from the crowd and here come Evans, Folz, Sparxx, Fulton, and Muyo. Alex and Fire are not stupid and they quickly bail out of the ring with their titles held high. They circle the ring and start to back up the aisle as the rest of the New Guard gets into the ring. Evans gets right into Aina’s face and seems to be chastising him for losing the belts to those old hasbeens. Aina is arguing back and things are starting to get really heated until Fulton intervenes and steps between the two, but in doing so he pushes Kai out of the way and now Kai is shoving Fulton from behind and things don’t look good for the New Guard.
Finally Sparxx and Folz and Mai get in between everyone and calm things down it seems. Fire and Alex are at the top of the ramp soaking in the last of their cheers when Kai and Aina step onto the ropes and motion that they’re coming for the belts but as soon as they step down and turn around, they are nailed with STEREO SUPERKICKS from Evans and Folz. Evans lifts Kai up...ICARUS WINGS onto a chair, Muyo lifts Aina up...ENGAME and the beatdown continues as the New Guard takes their pound of flesh from Kai and Aina. The crowd is silent as the attack continues and it looks like Alex wants to head down the ramp, but he hasn’t yet. Finally Noelani slides into the ring and starts to try and cover Kai and Aina up as the beatdown continues, but Evans doesn’t seem to care as he motions Sparxx and Mai to set up a table. He tells Folz and Fulton to pick up the Hawaiians, but Noelani stands in front of them and is basically pleading for this to stop, but Evans isn’t hearing it and he motions towards Aina first and finally Noelani has had enough and flat out BITCHSLAPS Evans and this turns him into a rage as he grabs Noelani by the hair. Chris tells Matt and Stan to set up and it looks like they’re going for 3D to Noelani through the table and that’s the straw that broke the camels back as Fire and Alex sprint back down towards the ring and slide under. Just as Folz lifts Noelani up, Fire’s in and nails a chop block from behind that sends Matt to a knee and drops Noelani off to the side. Just as it looks like the numbers from the New Guard will take care of Fire and Alex as well, there’s another roar from the crowd and here comes Danny Taylor, the Texans, and El Lobo among others. The New Guard helps Matt Folz to his feet and they quickly scatter out the back of the ring and through the crowd as the faces swarm. Aina and Kai drag themselves over towards Noelani across the ring from everyone else and there’s a tense staredown between everyone as we fade from this scene.
LD Williams vs. Stank (Chris Evans Special Guest Referee) – OOWF World Title MatchEvans is out first in Shawn Michales-esque referee gear to much heat. Stank and LD make their entrances, both careful to keep an eye on Evans. We get a clean start, and for the beginning, Evans plays no role in the match. Stank uses his power arsenal to take control early, LD makes a comeback and keeps Stank grounded for a few minutes. LD tries to lock Stank in a Sharpshooter, but Stank grabs the bottom rope. Instead of calling for a break, Evans just grabs LD from behind and throws him back. LD goes nose to nose with the ‘official’ and Stank is able to school-boy him from behind. Evans counts a FAST 2, but LD still kicks out and again, pops up and jaws with Evans. CE is enjoying this now, and begins to call the match clearly in favor of Stank. Stank, to his credit, realizes what is going on and keeps his half of the match clean. LD gets to the ropes to break a hold, Evans does not count for the break, so Stank breaks voluntarily. Stank has the edge and is wearing LD down with power move after power move. Stank sets up the Stank U, but LD slides down his back and rolls him up. Evans does not count. LD puts Stank in an STF… and Evans drops to the floor instead. LD chases him out, and Evans runs in the ring… and is face to face (or face to neck) with Stank. Stank yells at Evans to do his job, and Evans pushes him back. LD pulls Evans shoulder and spins him around to chew him out too. CE pops LD in the jaw, and Stank grabs Evans up and hits a STANK U! LD pulls Evans to his feet… CANADIAN DESTROYER! The bell rings, they raise each other’s hands, and it looks like we have a Double DQ. WINNER – Double Disqualification in 19:32
Evans starts to stir, and LD is about to set him up for another destroyer, when the rest of the New Guard comes running down to ringside. Suddenly, out of the crowd, Lobo, Danny, Chad, Zane, Alex, Fire & AA emerge. With the odds no longer in their favor, the New Guard retreats, collecting a still out of it Evans as the Faces Pose and the crowd goes home happy.
