OOWF Midweek Mayhem (October 17th, 2012)
Live from Gothenburg, Sweden
Russ: Good evening, and welcome to OOWF Midweek Mayhem, live tonight from Gothenburg, Sweden. Tonight, Round 2 of the Tag Team Invitational including an all champion matchup as the World Tag Team Champions go up against the Intercontinental Champion Dynamite Danny Taylor and the Onslaught Champion The Kai. Along with me is former ECW Campion Razz.
Razz: Russ, I tell you, the action we've seen so far has been totally off the chain! And this week promises to be no different.
Russ: Before we get to the quarterfinal action we have singles contests tonight, starting with a man on a mission.
Razz: Matt Folz has made it know that he is not going to be the whipping boy of the OOWF any more, he wants respect and he wants one thing. The World Heavyweight Championship.
Russ: But Matt Folz drew a tough opponent this week in Ricky Soaring Eagle.
Razz: This Native American is as tough as they come, but honestly Russ, Folz is a supreme technician and can brawl with the best of them. Can Soaring Eagle put the ultimate Packer Fan down tonight?
Russ: We'll see, let's go to the ring.
Matt Folz vs Ricky Soaring Eagle
Iron Maiden's “Run to the Hills” brings out Native American Ricky Soaring Eagle. As usual Ricky is angry and carrying his tire iron to the ring. As he gets into the ring he threatens referee Angelo Barrios with the tire iron and Barrios warns him early.
Battle without Honor or Humanity by Tomoyasu Hotei brings out the focused assassin Matt Folz. He has been frustrated in his efforts to mount the big comeback he promised before Hell on Earth.
Barrios calls for the bell and RSE CHARGES at Folz, but Folz stops him with a Greco-Roman punch to the face. Folz then picks up RSE in a Belly to Belly suplex, then ties him up in an armbar, but RSE heads for the ropes and Folz breaks...after laying a few into RSE's arm. RSE gets up and CHARGES in again...and Folz hits the drop toe hold and floats over onto a hammerlock. Folz keeps RSE tied up while putting on a wrestling clinic...until finally RSE hits a low blow on Folz while Barrios is trying to get Folz to break.
Now it's RSE's turn to inflict his brand of pain on Folz with a series of chops and strikes, and finally RSE goes to lock on the Cactus Thorn but he is too close to the ropes. Barrios demands that RSE break the hold or be disqualified. RSE breaks the hold..then picks up Barrios and hits him with Sitting Thunder! Out comes head referee Davis Hightower who calls for security and the bell.
Winner by DQ – Matt Folz
Security floods the ring, at first to keep Soaring Eagle at bay, but as Folz recovers and realizes what happened, security keeps him from going after Soaring Eagle. Security eventually gets the two to the back.
Russ: Well, Folz gets the win there, but it wasn't pretty.
Razz: Ricky Soaring Eagle keeps saying that he wants to hurt people using the white man's rules, but he keeps getting disqualified.
Russ: Let's hope that things get better as newcomer DK Murphy gets his first real test tonight with the insane Bunny, Rabbit Mask
Razz: Murphy comes in with quite the resume, but overexcitement cost the rookie his spot in the Tag Team Invitational last week. Davin Moreland seems to have taken a special interest in this rookie.
Russ: Well, Moreland's always looking for that next tag team partner, I suspect he sees something in Murphy. Rabbit Mask though, I don't know, he just seems to be getting kookier and kookier.
Razz: But he's getting deadlier and deadlier, and not someone to take lightly at all.
Russ: Not at all, well, security has Folz and Ricky Soaring Eagle backstage, so let's try to go to the ring...
DK Murphy vs Rabbit Mask
The Dropkick Murphys bring out newcomer DK Murphy. Murphy comes out in full pander to the crowd mode since it went over so well for him last week.
All the lights go out and a white fog engulfs the stage as Another Me by Jeff Hardy begins to play. Rabbit appears through the fog munching on a head of lettuce. Yes, I said a head of lettuce. With a face drawn on it. And he appears to also be talking to the head of lettuce. He gets into the ring, apparently gets into an argument with the lettuce, takes a big bite, then drops the head, stomps on it, picks it up and kicks it into the 10th row. Why no, nothing wrong with Rabbit Mask.
Referee Junior Hale calls for the bell and this one is on. Murphy extends a hand, and Rabbit Mask just looks at it, then grabs it and takes a bite out of it. Murphy howls in pain as Rabbit Mask uses the distraction to go on the attack with head strikes, dropkicks, a snapmare driver, and lands a solid Randy Orton punt kick. Murphy is out of it as Rabbit Mask picks him up for HEAD DROP #2. RM puts a hand on Murphy's chest but only gets a one count before he picks Murphy up by his hair. Hale warns Rabbit Mask, as Murphy gamely tries to get a few shots in but a kick to the face stops that. RM picks up Murphy for HEAD DROP #1. Once again RM puts his hand on the chest and lets Junior Hale get a two count before he picks up Murphy. Hale warns RM about not pinning the man and RM just laughs. RM sets Murphy in the corner and runs to the other corner. He runs back toward Murphy and hits a DROPKICK to Murphy's head. RM picks up Murphy and hits HEAD DROP #4. RM puts his hand on Murphy's chest and lets Hale count almost to three before he picks him up. Hale signals to the timekeeper to ring the bell.
WINNER via DQ – DK Murphy
Rabbit Mask is irate and gets into Junior Hale's face. Hale points to the shirt and RM stops arguing, laughs, and releases the WHITE MIST on Junior Hale! Senior Official Davis Hightower and security again flood the ring but this time Rabbit Mask beats a hasty retreat to back, laughing all the way.
Russ: What the hell is wrong with that man?
Razz: Well, DK Murphy made one critical mistake. He assumed that Rabbit Mask is rational, and after that entrance, you don't just assume it's a front. He really is nuts.
Russ: This is the third time that Rabbit Mask has assaulted an official, our General Manager Selena al-Tikriti is going to have to address this eventually. Right now, though, it's the return of one of your favorites in singles competition.
Razz: Davin Moreland is absolutely nuts, but you can't discount his abilities, and his sheer psychotic genius, not to mention his ability to get to an audience.
Russ: Give Moreland credit, our General Manager was going to put him right into main event matches, but he insisted on working his way up the card, so tonight he starts with Comrade Sharkoff.
Razz: The big Russian is somewhat overmatched tonight not only in the physical department, but also in the verbal skills department.
Russ: At 6-11 and 272, what can anyone do with this man? Let's go to the ring...
Davin Moreland vs Comrade Sharkoff
“Moscow Calling” by Gorky Park brings out the pride of Russia, Comrade Sharkoff. He is accompanied tonight by Mila Kunis, who is carrying a microphone, and as the odd couple gets into the ring Kunis starts to speak.
MK: You will all pay attention. Russia's most important wrestler of all time wants to speak.
Kunis hands the microphone to Sharkoff.
CS: Now Double O-F puts Comrade in ring with Goat. Double O-F officials treat Sharkoff with disrespect. Devin Mormon will regret getting in ring with Sharkoff. Then Sharkoff will become champion of all double O-F.
Notorious fires up and out comes the Grand Slam and Six Pack champion Davin Moreland. After pandering to the crowd for what seems like an eternity, Moreland gets into the ring and takes the microphone from Sharkoff.
DM: I know that I told Selena I'd start at the bottom, but I didn't know I'd have to go this low. (Crowd laughs) You know, Comrade, can I call you Comrade? You remind me of someone else around here, who talks and talks and never says anything. The difference is, you only have one piece of eye candy with you that is better looking than all four of his, put together. (Crowd roars) Plus, you've actually wrestled in this Millenium. (Crowd roars) But, if I have to go through you to get at that Paper Champion Cubheart, then Comrade, let's dance.
Ever the gentleman, Moreland holds the ropes for Mila Kunis to leave the ring, but that gives Sharkoff the opening to hammer Moreland from the back with clubbing blows. Sharkoff tries to whip Moreland across the ring but Moreland reverses and hits the big boot. Moreland picks up Sharkoff and tries to go for a REALLY GOOD DIAMOND CUTTER but out comes Chris Evans who takes to the top rope and hits Moreland with a double sledge from the top rope. Moreland is stunned as Evans picks up his attack on the ribs and knees of Moreland and finally is able to get the big man up for THE WAY OF THE FUTURE! Referee Davis Hightower long ago called for the bell and is frantically calling for security.
WINNER by DQ – Davin Moreland
Evans rolls out of the ring and picks up a chair and gets one good shot into Moreland's ribs and another to the knees before Security gets between them. He laughs as he heads up the ramp and Moreland lies in the ring.
Russ: What the hell is going on here tonight? That's three disqualifications in a row?
Razz: Tempers sure seem to be flaring up tonight, but to be honest, Moreland's been asking for that.
Russ: Asking for a beatdown in the middle of the match?
Razz: Look, I love the cockiness and arrogance of Moreland, but Chris Evans is the world champion and he doesn't appreciate that kind of abuse.
Russ: Well, I expect Chris Evans wrote a check tonight that Moreland will cash in, sooner rather than later. Right now let's remind everyone that we are just eleven days away from our next pay-per-view, the aptly named Doomy Doomy Doom Doom 10, coming to you Live! Sunday October 28th from Moscow, Russia!
Razz: I understand Comrade Sharkoff's parents will be on hand to see their son participate if they can get a pass out of Siberia.
Russ: No doubt. Now it's time for the quarterfinals of the Tag Team Invitational. We start off with four of the best women in wrestling today.
Razz: Careful, Russ, Firewoman will come out here and hurt you.
Russ: It's a long way from New Orleans to Sweden, but we want to wish her well in her recovery. But tonight Mai Muyo and her new partner, the veteran student of Wyatt Cox, takes on Wyatt's twin daughters, Power and Glory.
Razz: Power and Glory proved that they can hang with the big boys last week in dispatching Matt Folz and Rabbit Mask, two wrestlers with significantly more experience.
Russ: Well, that team didn't get beat as much as they self destructed.
Razz: Whatever you wanna call it, they got their hands raised.
Russ: Imagine, though, the dynamic here. Of anyone in the OOWF, Kate Bannister knows how Wyatt Cox trains, how he teaches. Mai Muyo spent several weeks training with Power and Glory. Razz, how will that impact the way this contest plays out?
Razz: If both teams go at it the way they did last week, this could be one of the hottest matches in the tournament.
Russ: No doubt about that, let's go to the ring.
TAG TEAM INVITATIONAL ROUND 2
Power and Glory Vs. Kate Bannister and Mai Muyo
Hero by Skillet brings a very focused Mai Muyo and Kate Bannister to the ring. Muyo has a huge smile on her face, though, realizing that she and Kate have jelled into a very solid tag team. As they get into the ring and hold their hands up to acknowledge the crowd, Kate turns to Mai and takes her head into her hand shouting instructions over the cheers
Two Steps from Hell's “Fortress of Seduction” brings Wyatt Cox and Power and Glory to the ring. Last week's win seems to have reignited a fire in Power as she looks totally focused, but Glory has an evil grin as she walks beside her father.
Referee Mel Creech calls the teams to the center of the ring and Power extends her hand to both Kate and Mai and they shake. Glory hugs both Mai and Kate and smiles at Mai and blows her a kiss as she exits the ring, and it looks to be Power and Kate to start this match.
The fans are treated to a solid exhibition of old school chain wrestling which the Swedish fans seems to enjoy immensely. Both Power and Kate try to top each other and things go well until Kate tweaks her knee in a rope run and goes down in a heap. Power hesitates and allows Kate to get to her corner and tag in Mai. Power tags in her sister and its some high flying new school action between Mai and Glory. Kate keeps shaking her leg on the apron trying to get it to respond a little better but she seems to be hurting. Mai starts getting the better of Glory, so Glory tags in her sister and before exiting runs across the ring and pushes Kate off the apron, a move that gets Glory a stern talking to by her father. Kate is on the floor holding her knee, and Wyatt tries to go over and check on his old student but Creech tells him to get back to the corner. Mai keeps up the pressure on Power and Glory, but the two-on-one starts to show its wear on Mai. Kate finally makes her way up to the apron and calls for Mai to tag her in, but Glory shoots across the ring to take out Kate...but misses...but Kate falls back on the floor? She continues to hold that knee, while the twins continue to double team Mai. Power gets Mai on the top turnbuckle and tags in Glory, and hits the Superplex from the top rope, but Mai gets her feet up when Glory goes for the Shooting Star Press. Mai slowly crawls over to her corner and tags in a finally recovered Kate. Kate steps to the center of the ring, picks up Glory, and both get an evil grin on their faces. Glory holds up her hand as if to execute a countdown, Five, Four, Three, Two, One...No....Fingerpoke of Doom? Kate falls like she was shot. And Glory puts her foot on top and tells Creech to count, which he does...one, two, three!
WINNERS – Power and Glory!
Wyatt and Power exchange shocked glances, as if they weren't expecting this, but Kate and Glory are hugging and happy, and Mai is in her corner on the apron in even more shock. She gets into the ring and confronts Kate and significant words are exchanged. Kate finally kicks Mai in the stomach and gets her up for a powerbomb...except YOU CAN'T POWERBOMB MAI MUYO who grabs Kate by the hair and faceplants her. Glory picks up Mai and starts hammering away on her and hits the ASIATIC SPIKE! Glory picks up Kate and smiles at her. Kate again picks up Mai except no Powerbomb this time. They go to the corner and Kate gets on the second turnbuckle, Glory hoists Mai up for a SECOND ROPE SPIKE PILEDRIVER! Glory spits on Mai and kicks her, then turns to Kate and hugs and kisses her. They leave Mai in the ring as Wyatt, the twins, and Kate exit the ring and Wyatt is having some red-faced words with Kate and Glory....
...when Blow explodes from the loudspeakers and General manager Selena al-Tikriti comes out onto the stage with a microphone.
SaT: Seriously, three DQ's and now THIS? Girls, I love you, you know that. But this is the last straw. I love anarchy, but the board is pissed, and our fans here in Sweden and around the world deserve better. Like your dad says, actions have consequences, and there WILL be consequences for all this tonight. I'll have more to say after Mayhem is over, but I would suggest that you, Wyatt, and your girls, and your...friend here, be ready for some serious stuff to come down.
Wyatt and Power are angry, while Glory and Kate are laughing as they head backstage.
Russ: What the hell just happened out there?
Razz: Payback. That bad blood that we thought was put aside just exploded.
Russ: But did you see that look on Wyatt's face? It's like he and Power had no idea what was going on out there?
Razz: It looks like Kate Bannister took one for the team. But it looks even worse for Mai Muyo as she's being taken backstage by the medical team on a stretcher.
Russ: Folks, we apologize, it must be something in the water, but everyone seems to have gone nuts tonight, which takes us to our next quarterfinal match.
Razz: You know Russ, Banned from Everywhere isn't contaminated by sanity at all, and Chris Evans and Ghosthead, well, they're ready to explode.
Russ: Contrary to conversations from the participants this week, we hear that Evans is worried about a cash-in of the Imperial Onslaught championship opportunity at any time from the Death Knell, even during this match tonight.
Razz: And they better not take this team lightly. Banned from Everywhere may be goofy, they may be nuts, but they're capable inside that ring.
Russ: Couldn't have said it better myself, let's go to the ring.
Banned from Everywhere Vs Chris Evans and Ghosthead
Insane In the Brain brings the whacky team of Banned From Everywhere to the ring. Awesome Bill form Dawsonville and Justin Sane are atop Drunkey and Drunkette, and Drunkey is pulling a cart with Peacepel inside, producing a strange fluid from an unusual portion of the robot's anatomy. Behind this whole mess is Ellie May from Elijay on her Likkercycle.
Iron Maiden's The Trooper brings the OOWF World Champion Chris Evans to the ring along with his partner Ghosthead. This team has already had a ton of conflict run through it, and their actions as they come down the ramp show no indications of diminishing as Evans continues to preen and bluster away at his partner and Ghosthead continues to just walk the walk.
Awesome Bill is set to start out against Ghosthead who turns to his partner and reminds him that he has the Imperial Onslaught match guarantee and he might us it tonight. The cocky smirk fades for just a moment, but it's enough for Ghosthead who laughs at the champion.
Bill charges at Ghosthead who easily dodges him but Bill follows through by hitting Evans on the apron and knocking him off. Ghosthead smiles until he finds himself dropkicked from the rear by Justin Sane. Bill follows through with a Bionic Elbow and attempts to throw Ghosthead into the ropes but the Night Terror reverses the whip and hits Bill with a Spinebuster. He covers but Ghosthead can only get a two count. Ghosthead ties up Bill with a series of suplexes but Bill avoids the pinfall. He picks Bill up, throws him into the corner, and tries to follow with a corner splash, but Bill ducks out at the last minute to have a refreshing drink and Ghosthead finds nobody home. Bill politely offers some PCPL to Ghosthead, who takes the jar and throws it in Bill's face. Big mistake. Ghosthead finds himself lit up with kicks and punches and Bionic Elbows from here to next Thursday. Bill throws Ghosthead into the ropes and hits the MASON DIXON LINE! Through all this Evans is in the corner laughing. Bill picks up Ghosthead – DIRTY BIRD! Bill goes for a cover but Ghosthead finds the ropes and forces the break. Ghosthead slides partway under the ropes but suddenly finds that Justin Sane is on top of the turnbuckle and hits the MOMENT OF CLARITY! Ghosthead and Evans were obviously taking this team too lightly and Evans shows it by laughing and pointing at his partner, who works his way back to the corner and slaps the taste out of Evans' mouth, which the referee calls a tag. Evans goes right to work on Awesome Bill, tying him up in knots with chain wrestling that has Bill totally lost. Evans tries to hit the Lethal Vortex but Bill fights his way out and tags in Justin Sane, who tries to come off the top to take Evans down. But that never works, and Evans pulls Justin into a Powerslam. Evans laughs and points but his partner is just grinning. Evans launches into a tirade against Ghosthead, unaware that Justin has crawled over into his corner and tagged in Awesome Bill. Bill creeps up behind the creep Evans and rolls him up for the three count!
WINNERS – Banned from Everywhere!
Bill and Justin roll out of the ring, totally thrilled as is Ellie May who brings the boys PCPL. They work their way to the back as Evans and Ghosthead continue to argue in the ring. Evans leaves the ring and begins up the ramp when from out of the back comes Davin Moreland! Evans changes course and heads out through the crowd, deciding he's had enough work for one day.
Razz: Who'da thunk it, Russ? Awesome Bill just pinned the World Heavyweight Champion!
Russ: No doubt the Pine Cone Party Likker will be flowing tonight. Meanwhile it looks like the World Heavyweight Champion had better grow eyes in the back of his head as he has more people gunning for him than Baskin Robbins has flavors.
Razz: Well, when you're the champ, everyone's gunning for you. Unfortunately for Evans, he's pissed off a lot of people, and they're all coming right for him.
Russ: Well, up next, three Grand Slam Champions and one of the most underrated performers in the OOEF today collide.
Razz: The Darlings showed last week that they're ready to climb the ladder again into Tag Team contention, but they face what looks like a nearly unstoppable team in LD Williams and Stank!
Russ: This promises to be a barn burner, let's go to the ring..
The Darlings vs LD Williams and Stank
“Sail” (instrumental) brings Alexander and Alexis Darling to the ring. The twins are on quite the roll lately after their war with Power and Glory. They enter the ring and pose for the crowd on the turnbuckles.
Nonpoint's “Skin” brings a team of Grand Slam Champions to the ring in LD Williams and Stank. Their victory over The Dragons last week proved that this team is for real!
Both teams meet in the center of the ring and exchange cautious handshakes as Referee Junior Hale warns both teams to keep it clean. Apparently GMSelena gave the officials a good talking to after the debacles earlier in the evening.
The match starts out solid, with LD Willams and Alexander Darling starting out with a solid chain wrestling clinic that has the crowd on its feet. After about six minutes of solid back and forth with neither wrestler able to capitalize on anything LD and Alex get tangled into the ropes and each thinks the other is taking too long to get loose and tempers flair up for a moment but Junior Hale steps in and settles things down. Alex walks to his corner and angrily tags in his sister. Alexis and LD continue the chain wrestling which Alexis steps up a notch throwing in some good off the rope work that is frustrating LD and he starts working a little bit stiffer. Finally in frustration after LD gets caught in a combination by Alexis that ends in her hitting a Shooting Star Press and getting a two count on LD does he decide that it's time for Stank to come in.
The complexion of the contest starts heating up even more as Stank and Lexie are able to hit some solid moves on each other, but neither one is able to keep the other down. Finally Stank finds an opening to hit the STANK-U, but Lexie shows her flexibility and wriggles free and clips Stank's knee and drops a mean elbow across his neck. She goes for a shooting star press but Stank has the presence of mind to get his foot up and Lexie is rocked. Stank works his way to his feet and picks up the stunned Lexie for an Oklahoma Slam and hits it! He hooks a leg but Alex runs in to break up the pinfall attempt which brings in LD to put Alex out. Tempers explode as neither team is able to gain a distinct advantage over the other and the frustration shows. Finally Junior Hale gets LD and Alex out but Lexie takes advantage of the distraction to get over to her corner and tag in Alex. The stare down between Alex and Stank turns to a solid shoutfest. Both come to blows in the middle of the ring which is only slowed by Alex kicking Stank's knee and getting the big man down with a DDT. Alex tries to lock on the Money Clip but Stank kicks him before he can get it locked in. More solid shots between these two in the middle of the ring before Alex tries to whip Stank across the ring but Stank reverses it into a spinebuster! Stank tags in LD Williams who goes to work on Alex with his whole arsenal, but Alex isn't done yet as he manages to get LD up for a Brainbustah! Alex smells blood and goes for a Curbstomp and hits it! Alex is confident as he heads for the top rope, but LD isn't done and hits the top rope, crotching Darling and getting him in perfect position for a Superplex! LD takes a big risk and goes for the Canadian Destroyer and HITS IT! Alex is down and LD Covers him while Alexis climbs to the top rope to fly onto LD but Stank runs over and grabs her off the top rope and hits the STANK-U. Junior Hale counts 1, 2, 3!
WINNERS – Stank and LD Williams
As Junior Hale raises Stank and LD's hands, Alex helps his sister up and they both angrily walk over to the winners and offer their hands, but make it clear that this isn't over.
Russ: Finally, a great wrestling match tonight by four great wrestlers.
Razz: It's just too bad that someone had to lose in that match, but the Darlings can hold their heads up high that they put on a tremendous contest.
Russ: We may have just seen one of the teams in the finals in LD Williams and Stank, and I honestly think one of these next two teams will be in the finals against them.
Razz: Texpress is on a roll now, and so is Danny Taylor the Intercontinental Champion, and his partner, the Onslaught Champion The Kai. This match will be incredible, Russ:
Russ: I agree, let's go to the ring.
Texpress vs Dynamite Danny Taylor and The Kai!
POD's Here comes the Boom brings out the Intercontinental Champion Danny Taylor and the Onslaught Champion The Kai. They both smile and play to the fans.
Big & Rich's "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" brings out the OOWF Tag Team Champions Texpress. The Texans play to the crowd but they are all business in the ring.
The match starts out with hearty handshakes all around and the match is exactly what you'd expect: Power on power matchups between Zane and Danny, high flying between Chad and The Kai. After about 12 minutes of solid back and forth action Zane tries to get Danny up into the Torture Rack but Danny reverses it into an Inverted DDT and tags in The Kai who tries to finish Zane with a Pipeline but Zane has enough left to dodge the bullet and The Kai's momentum sends him to the cornerpost. Zane picks up The Kai and gets him on top of his shoulders and tags in Chad, and the team hits the Dropkick Device. Chad goes for the cover and Zane cuts off Danny for the win.
Winner – Texpress
After the match The Kai is understandably upset but his partner Danny takes it in stride and offers handshakes to the Texans and after a minute The Kai does too, and both Danny and The Kai raise the hands of the Tag Team Champions.
Razz: What an incredible contest to close out our live show, Russ!
Russ: The pure wrestling nature of these last two contests hopefully made up for whatever happened at the start of tonight's card.
Razz: Hey, things sometimes get crazy. They sure did tonight.
Russ: Folks, stay tuned for the postgame show, where we'll hear from GM Selena on the events of earlier tonight. I imagine there will be some punishments coming down, particularly on Power and Glory and Kate Bannister, we'll also hopefully have an update on the condition of Mai Muyo and DK Murphy, who were both roughed up pretty good in their matches tonight, special interviews and more on the postgame show which follows immediately. For Razz, I'm Russ, so long everybody.
