From Shark:
So I thought I might go into a little detail on how the OOWF works. This is the only e-fed I have ever participated in, and frankly, I don't really know how everyone else works.
The OOWF has weekly Wednesday night shows (MidWeek Mayhem) & a PPV on the last Sunday ofeach every other Month.
The OOWF started life on the Online Onslaught message board in 2005. It has moved a couple of times, and is currently housed Here. The forum has a chat room. it is always open, but is most populated on Mondays for Raw, Wednsedays for MidWeek Mayhem & PPV Sundays (both OOWF & WWE). In the chat room is where a lot of booking ideas get tossed around. It isn't required, but helps us get to know you. The ones that don't chat pm ideas to the booker. The booking is loose, so if you have an idea for someone you want to work with/against. speak up, and as long as it does not undo other big plans, it can be worked out. (I am NOT the booker)
Our week starts & ends on Wednesday. The booker/fed head Posts the Show @ 8pm EST.
Shortly thereafter he posts the Lineup for the nest weeks show. All promos (RPs) & any OOC comments go in this thread. There is no restriction/requirement on how many or length of promos you can post.
Naturally, the more active you are, the better fleshed out your character becomes & the more others will promo with you
You are welcome to include other characters, NPCs, etc... in your promos, as long as you keep them in character. If you are unsure, check with the handler ahead of time. I would say over 50% of the promos involve someone else's character.
Breaking the fourth wall is allowed, but needs to be used sparringly & is usually done in a comical context. We use an "NPC" named Kayfabe when doing this. Kayfabe will pop her head in your promo and wag a finger or something.
The "OOWF Arena" Backstage includes all the character's dressing rooms. Generally characters 'live' in their dressing rooms/suites throughout the week. You are free to roam around and promo from wherever you wish, but don't be surprised if someone walks backstage, down The Hallway of Random Encounters, & knocks on your dressing room door.
In the OOWF Promo universe, we kind of assume everything is televised. There is an army of INCs (Invisible Ninja Cameramen) that are seemingly everywhere. They are useful to have to we can get glimpses into the lives of characters in promos. (ie., overhearing conversation between partners at a bar)
Traveling with the OOWF from arena to arena are a number of other facilities. A Dining Hall, a gym/training center. These are open to be used by anyone at any time. Several character's suites have bars, hot tubs or other amenities in them each week. They are generally promoed as inside the building.
The OOWF employs a vast number of Sexy Female Journalists that conduct the backstage interviews, if you wish to use them. They are not given names, just assigned a number. A couple of characters always talk to the same number SFJ. others can use them too, but don't go into any detail with an SFJ that is used elsewhere.
The OOWF incorporates a number of Real Life people & characters as NPCs Examples of this are Ric Flair, who in the OOWF owns a sandwich shop in the dining hall, John Ross Ewing (from TNT's Dallas) as a member of the board of directors, and Sidney Freedman, the psychatrist from MASH.
We have a good number (appx 1/3 of the roster) that is female. There is no women's division, they wrestle and compete with the guys.
As a rule, we Tour each week, but normally don't do shows at big cities & arenas. We have done shows on every continent (including Antarctica) and 3/4 the countries on the globe. The tour usually includes towns with funny names, extremely small populations, or other oddities. One example, several years ago we toured the US hitting every town named Springfield & Hollywood.
When traveling overseas, the entire roster travels together on the same plane, no exceptions. It is one of the rare restrictions we have. It seems odd, but some of the funniest promos have occurred on the plane.
We have 4 active Championships. World, World Tag, Intercontinental & Onslaught. The Onslaught is our version of the old ROH Pure Title.
There is also the DDT Ironman Heavy Metal CHampionship, similar to the 24/7 WWF Hardcore title. Anyone, or any thing can win it, including things like half a dead sparrow, a penguin & the title belt itself. Anyone can wrote themselves winning or losing the DDT Title.
We had a Trios title for a while, but it grew hard to book, and has been deactivated.
When you sign up, you will not be booked until you promo. The first match will be against a jobber, usually with a local connection. from there you will be placed in a program with someone else.
Our "Wrestlemania" is Hell on Earth. It is the Last Sunday of September. September of 2015 will be Hell On Earth XI
The OOWF has a number of annual events. The Imperial Onslaught is a Royal Rumble-type event with a pinfall finish for the final 2. THe IO winner receives a MITB type contract (You will need to let the booker know in advance when you plan to use it). THe IO is always the first show after Hell on Earth
The Invitational is a singles tournament, similar to King of the Ring. It is held in Feb or March. The Winner generally challenges for the World title at the next PPV.
The Tag Team Invitational is held in October or November and the winner generally challenges for the Tag Titles at the next PPV.
... I know I am forgetting stuff. Please ask questions if you have any!
