OOWF MidWeek Mayhem
Live! From Promised Land, Louisiana
MOOSEHEAD JACK vs. COMRADE SHARKOFF – OOWF DDT Iron Man Heavy Metal Title MatchMoose and Sharkoff hammer one another mercilessly. The fans boo both men, but cheer the fact that they are both busted open fairly quickly. Sharkoff drops Moose with a wicked belly to back driver, dumping Moose on his head. Sharkoff takes a page out of Moose’s book and wraps some barbed wire around his foot, then takes it off and DRILLS Moose in the face with it. Sharkoff tries to get a fujiwara arm bar on Moose, but Moose manages to slip free and HAMMER Sharkoff with knees to the face. Sharkoff takes about a dozen shots from Moose, then goes limp and can’t defend himself anymore, the referee steps in and stops the match.
WINNER in 14:11 by referee stoppage – Moosehead Jack
Moose struggles to his feet, bloody and battered and grabs the DDT title and swings it above his head like a Wildman. Moose is almost foaming at the mouth daring anyone to get into the ring with him. He finally leaves and heads to the back
PHOENIX RISING vs. TEXPRESSHandshakes to start the match, even if they aren’t as friendly as they once were. Phoenix Rising gains the early part of the match and dominates Chad and Zane. Their teamwork has really come a long way in a month or so. Chad and Zane regroup and take the advantage and keep Alex in their corner. The Texans pull out all the stops, but they can’t keep Alex down for the three count. They try a double drop kick, but Alex ducks out of the way and tags in Fire. Fire storms the ring and plants Chad with a MICHINOKU DRIVER, they set up for a PHOENIX SPLASH/BFE combo, but before they can hit it, Chad gets to his feet and the bell rings.
WINNER – 20:00 time limit draw
Both teams are very disappointed with the result and try to get five more minutes, but the referee does not give in. They all shake hands again, but the crowd still wants more
CROWING vs. MATT FOLZ vs. STANKStank and Crowing actually team up for part of this match and batter Folz mercilessly. To his credit Folz takes everything they have and fights back. Folz catches Crowing with a top rope angle slam, then throws him out of the ring. Stank tries to attack, but Folz kicks him in the knee, sending the big man to one knee. Folz charges in and takes the big man out with a knee to the face that stuns him. Folz ties Stank in the ropes and hammers him. Meanwhile on the outside, Crowing is back on his feet, but Sparxx hops the guardrail and BLASTS him in the face with a chair! Sparxx rolls Crowing into the ring, then hides. Folz grabs a barely conscious Crowing and KILLS him with a BRAINBUSTER then covers him, glaring at Stank and laughing the whole time while he is helplessly trapped in the ropes. The referee stops trying to free Stank and makes the three count.
WINNER in 20:57 – Matt Folz
DANNY TAYLOR & PSYKLE vs. CHRIS EVANS & RICKY SOARING EAGLEThe bulk of this match is Taylor trying to get his hands on Evans, and Evans doing all he can to stay away from Taylor. Evans and Soaring Eagle are not exactly ideal teammates and tag in and out increasingly hard. Psykle and Soaring Eagle light one another up with chops and kicks, and Soaring Eagle catches him with brutal chokeslam. He gets to his feet and Evans tags himself in and covers, but Psykle kicks out at two. Soaring Eagle and Evans have words, and Soaring Eagle is about to deck him when Psykle grabs him from behind and hits the PSYCHO DRIVER! Psykle tags in Danny, Danny grabs Evans and hits the DYNAMITE DROP, covers, and gets the three count.
WINNERS in 20:15 – Danny Taylor & Psykle
FLYIN HAWAIIANS vs. ATTITUDE ADJUSTER & HONCHO WILLIAMS – Non-Title Honolulu Street FightThe Hawaiians try to attack before the bell, but Honcho and AA are ready for it. The two teams fight all over the arena and back to the ring. #Heel Cardboard Cutout Johnny Adrenaline hands AA a chain (it was actually just taped to his back) and AA uses it to bust both Kai and Aina open. Honcho POPS Aina with a superkick, but Kai makes the save. The Hawaiians fight back and put Honcho through a table and focus on AA, but AA is a wily veteran. He nails a low blow (Ric Flair style) on Aina and dumps him out of the ring, then lands a scientific thumb to the eye on Kai, then traps him in the IRON CLAW!!!! It looks like Kai might quit when Matt Folz, JP Sparxx, Stan Fulton and Chris Evans storm the ring. They beat AA and Honcho to a bloody pulp. The Kai makes the dramatic cover on AA, hooking the leg and gets the anticlimactic three count.
WINNERS in 19:16 – The Flyin Hawaiians
STAN FULTON vs. EL LOBO SANGRIENTO vs. LD WILLIAMS vs. GHOSTHEAD – Non-Title MatchFulton stays in the ring, standing in the corner with his arms crossed across his chest and the title draped across his chest. His opponents come out and the match begins. Ghosthead and Lobo tear into one another, resuming a feud that has stretched for years. LD and Stan square off in the middle of the ring, LD gets the initial advantage, but Fulton drops him with a headbutt to the face. The match goes on for over forty-five minutes with everyone getting several near falls. Things break down at the end when Ghosthead is attacked on the outside by a masked man. As security rushes to the ring and pulls them apart, the referee gets distracted by the melee on the outside. Fulton grabs his axe handle and climbs onto the apron, but Lobo KILLS him with a boot to the side of the head that sends the champion flying into the guardrail. Lobo climbs onto the middle rope and dares Fulton to climb back into the ring. LD Williams grabs him from the middle turnbuckle and hits a BRIDGING GERMAN SUPLEX on the big man! LD rolls his shoulder a fraction of a second before Lobo can, and LD Williams gets the three count.
WINNER in 47:41 – LD Williams
JP SPARXX vs. MAI MUYO – OOWF Onslaught Championship Match“Hero” by Skillet plays over the PA system as Mai Muyo emerges from the back to a solid cheer, looking ready to fight as she rushes down the ramp into the ring. “Let It Rock” then blares over the PA system as the Onslaught Champion, JP Sparxx, arrives accompanied by his sweetheart Jewel. He struts down to the ring, climbs on the turnbuckles, and holds the title aloft as Mai bounds with nervous energy. The bell rings, and the two competitors go nose to nose. They lock up, and Mai flips around the back, wrenching the neck into a Dragon Sleeper, perhaps looking for an early End-Is-Here…no! Mai bridges backwards, pinning her own shoulders to the ground under JP as he wrenches him back! 1-2-3!
WINNER in 0:25 and still Onslaught Champion…JP Sparxx!
The crowd is confused at first, thinking the move may have been an accident by the inexperienced Mai. But Mai bounds upward, all smiles, grabbing the Onslaught Title and handing it back to JP. As she raises his hand in victory and Jewel walks in the ring clapping, the crowd begins to boo.
Slowly, the other members of the New Guard emerge from the back, clapping as well—Kai, Aina, Evans, Folz, and Fulton. Mai gestures for a microphone and receives one.
Mai: Hear me out, hear me out. (Boos) I do sincerely apologize for depriving you, the fans, of your main event here tonight. But JP…JP deserves that championship, no matter how our match tonight might have resulted. Because the work he’s doing, that all the men in this ring are doing…is good work.
Two weeks ago, my brother nearly died in this ring. He nearly died because, in the swirling emotions that have categorized this soap opera of a company, he was trapped in an escalating cycle of violence, hatred and emotional dependency, such that he tried to hold to the flames as a way out. Sadly, this horrific cycle has typified many of the interactions…of the Old Guard of this company. Junichiro was guilty, but he played a role played by many more.
The New Guard here is engaged in a war. Now, I hate war—to quote John McCain (boos) “War is wretched beyond description, and only a fool or a fraud could sentimentalize its cruel reality.” But I believe just war exists. And as terrible as it is for Davin to be as injured as I was—and I don’t know if I agree with the extent of what was done—it is better for him to be home injured than for his daughter to not have a father in three years because TODAY is the day that Moosehead Jack decides everyone dies in that ring, including himself. It is better for Outback Jack to be taken out of the game when he was before his psyche was driven to that of Spin Hansen. (Gasps at the name.)
This company will have no more Spin Hansens. This company will have no more Junichiro Muyos. No longer will wrestling in the OOWF be associated with threats to the lives of family and post-traumatic stress disorder. We will purge away the last of the Old Guard for their own well-being. We come to bring peace…but we will need a sword.
I stand with the New Guard...and It's Mai Time.
Mai gently sets the mic down, raises her fist alongside the rest of the New Guard as the show begins to fade out…
