<We cut to the inside of the Dayton Civic Center Annex, which has been spruced up nicely. OOWF members, past and present, are all in attendance and dressed to the nines. A spotlight shines on the podium and GM the Rick steps out from behind the curtain, drawing a standing ovation from the crowd that lasts several minutes.>
GMtR: Ok, enough sit down. Folks, we are gathered here this weekend to celebrate the five year anniversary of the OOWF. It is an endeavor I never thought we would have to worry about because I never thought we could possibly make it this far, and neither did anyone else. That being said, they also never thought we could have a giant mech robot battle in Japan, so that shows just what the hell people know. <wild applause>
Tonight we are gathered here for something different. To mark the five year anniversary of the OOWF, the board of trustees, and the fans have demanded that we create an OOWF Hall of Fame to enshrine the past legends of the OOWF, and give current and future OOWF wrestlers something to strive for. There is one criterion that wrestlers must meet to be eligible for the Hall of Fame; they cannot be currently active on the OOWF roster.
Our first inductee is an OOWF original. He has held the OOWF World Heavyweight Title, is a two time Intercontinental champion, a two time Onslaught champion, and won the Imperial Onslaught in 2005 and 2007. Ladies and Gentlemen, here to induct “Dangerous” Donovan Viper, LD Williams.
<nice applause for LD Williams>
LDW: “The OOWF, when it started, was a collection of misfits – all the people that no other company wanted. From the outside, it looked destined to fail. We knew better. Looking around the locker room that first night, there were a few guys that you knew were going to make it big – and bring the company with them. One of those men was “Dangerous Donovan Viper.”
Donnie was no stranger to being a misfit – it was practically his hobby growing up. I remember when we were kids Ma would drop me off for a week in the summer to “spend time with family.” Donnie and I would spend the week, settling scores with the neighborhood kids. Donnie was the only kid I ever met who fought dirtier than me – Ma always liked that about him.
I knew Donnie was going to succeed in the OOWF, but even I had no idea just how fast. Within four months he was the World Champion. And then he decided it was time to make his name by going after Underdawg. Donnie's never done anything easy, and he never did anything small.
But, the thing that really put Donnie over the top – the thing that made his name, was taking somebody's offhand insult and turning it into the greatest gimmick the OOWF has ever seen. Donnie's questionable orientation...” <pauses>
Voice From Backstage: “I AM NOT A HOMO!”
LDW: “...transcended roles, storylines, and even his presence in the company. From the moment he entered the OOWF, to the moment he left for the final time, Donnie was a pillar of the company. It' too bad that our plans to work together fell through. The Sidewinders would have owned the tag team division...
Ladies and Gentlemen, it is truly an honor and a privilege for me to induct into the OOWF hall of fame class of 2009, the man...the legend...'Dangerous' Donovan Viper!”
<Donovan Viper gets a standing ovation from the crowd that goes on for several minutes. He acknowledges the cheers and shares a manly hug with LD Williams, then waits a little more for the cheers to die down before speaking>
DV: Wow. I don’t know what to say. My path in life has taken me away from the OOWF, but my heart never left. The men in this locker room, both those that I have fought against and with, and those that I don’t know all share a bond, we are all brothers. The OOWF was the single greatest thing that has happened to me. When I came here, like LD said, I was a misfit. I had worked in other feds in Japan and other places. But LD convinced me to give this place a shot. He said they had a vision of wrestling that was different from anything anyone had ever done. He was right. As soon as I got here, I knew I was home. I was allowed to prosper and thrive and be the wrestler I wanted to be, not what some suit said I should be. I set my sights on being a champion, and I achieved that goal. I would like to thank everyone once again for this honor. To be able to call myself a Hall of Famer, that is something I will never forget. Thank you.
<Another standing ovation while Donovan Viper shares another manly hug with LD Williams. Viper soaks it up for a moment, then heads to the back.>
GMTR: I still think he is a homo. <laughs from the crowd> Our next inductee is also one of the OOWF originals. He is a man who struck fear into opponents with his size and raw, brute power. The man is a former OOWF World Heavyweight Champion and the winner of the 2005 OOWF Invitational. Ladies and gentlemen, here to induct UnderDawg, Davin Moreland.
<Davin, dressed up in some tux he has left over from the DEA days, strides to the podium, to a nice response>
DM: Thank you everyone. Have a seat.
<They all sit>
DM: I've been with OOWF since 2006. Early on in my career, I had a difficult adjustment period. I was floating and aimless a bit. You all are familiar with my epic feud with Chris Cole I'm sure.
<He nods to Cole in the audience who nods back>
DM: But before that, before my first go-round with LD...there was one wrestler here who put aside their ego and decided to give the young kid a chance. They saw potential that I didn't even see. And now, I stand before you as a 4-Time Campeonas de Trios, 3-Time Onslaught and 3-time World Heavyweight Champion.
<He steps back from the podium and gives some applause, the rest give some polite applause>
DM: This wrestler was the most feared of their day. Not face, not heel...just out for themselves, and giving the fans what they wanted every night. And when you heard the music start up from the ring when you're against a mystery opponent? There's no one else you'd want to hear less. A true badass, and a true pioneer.
<solid applause this time>
DM: Ladies and Gentlemen, an OOWF Original, and someone I know that we're all proud to be able to call OOWF Hall of Famer. Ladies and Gentlemen...I give you...UNDERDAWG!
BONG
BONG
WOOF!
<"Doggy Dogg World" fires up and Underdawg comes from backstage with complete lighting and gay spooky. He shakes paws with Davin and steps to the podium and the crowd goes insane. Dawg gets a standing ovation from the crowd that goes on for several minutes. The cheers finally die down and Dawg speaks>
UD: It seems very fitting that Donovan Viper and I go into the OOWF Hall of Fame at the same time. He was one of my biggest rivals and toughest opponents. There is not much I can add to what Donovan already said; all of you in the OOWF now are like brothers to me. I was the first big man in the OOWF, and now I see someone like Davin Moreland who I knew would be great when he showed up being the next generation big man. I see Alexander Darling and I think of Donovan Viper, I see Phantos and Lucios and I think of Hellion and Corax. Old faces leave, new faces come in and the OOWF goes on. Maybe one day, if the time is right, you will see the Dawg back in the ring again.
<The fans break into a PLEASE COME BACK chant>
Until that time, for all the fans, all the wrestlers, and everyone out there who has ever supported the OOWF………
REST
IN
FLEEEEEEEEEAS!
<Dawg steps away from the podium and acknowledges the crowd and shakes hands with Davin Moreland and GM the Rick one more time, then heads off stage. GM the Rick approaches the podium>
GMtR: This is usually the point where we would stop the show and bring out Donovan Viper and UnderDawg and give the OOWF Hall of Fame Class of 2009 a round of applause. But this year we are doing things just a little differently. This year we are making an exception to the rule against active competitors being elected into the Hall of Fame.
<there is a general murmur of surprise from the crowd>
Our next inductee has accomplished a lot in the ring, but it is not just what he has done in the ring that makes him an integral part of the OOWF. He is a former Onslaught champion, the current OOWF World Heavyweight Champion and most importantly he is the founder of the OOWF. Ladies and Gentlemen, here to induct Ecosystem……Moosehead Jack
<shocked chatter turns to applause as Moose makes his way to the podium>
MHJ: Shocked to see me, aren’t you? When the OOWF Hall of Fame was conceived a few months ago, there was no debate whatsoever that Ecosystem should be the first person inducted. In 2004 an innocent post on the Online Onslaught fantasy booking forum spawned this monster. Here we are five years later because of the idea a fourteen year old kid had. School and outside projects took Eco away from the OOWF for much of the time, but he would occasionally come back and offer ideas and encouragement. What started as a fun little distraction for him has become a five year project that has had over 100 people participate at various time, has spawned two message boards, and would consist of tens of thousands of pages if ever printed. I was trusted to take over when Eco’s schedule became too hectic, and I only hope that I have been able to maintain his vision of what the OOWF could be. Ladies and Gentlemen, the OOWF World Heavyweight Champion, and the founder of the OOWF…….Ecosystem
<Moose stops and Eco makes his way to the podium, to a standing ovation that goes on, and on, and on. Moose and Eco share a manly hug and handshake and finally Eco stands there to speak.>
Eco: There are a lot of people to thank. Thanks to Moose for taking over when things got tough, thanks to everyone who has contributed their time and ideas. Thanks to all the wrestlers for making this as great as it is. I would have something a little more in depth to say, but I have to admit, I am completely taken by surprise by this. The only thing I can really say is……..thank you.
<With that, Eco starts to leave, but Moose stops him. When he does, all the OOWF wrestlers, past and present, get up from their tables and line up to come up to the stage. One by one they all pass and shake Eco’s hands, even Poe. For one night, rivalries are ignored as we pay tribute to the man who gave us the OOWF
The show closes with Donovan Viper, Ecosystem and UnderDawg surrounded by every OOWF Wrestler past and present, and the fans cheering loudly>
