OO Nation: All discussion pertaining to Midweek Mayhem (airing December 7, 2011) should be done in this thread. It will remain pinned near the top of the Current Events section for the remainder of the week and to co-opt a line from Stan Fulton "I can't believe I used to run this shithole." In discussing the program, we'd love it if you shared your numerical rating for the show (from a low of 0.0 to a high of 5.0, in any increment of one-tenth of a point). For full details on the ratings scale and how to join in on this informal "Battle of the Brands," please be sure to check out the OOfficial Guidelines for TV Ratings/Discussion Threads.
Tonight on Mayhem: It's been a slow run of TV leading up to tonight as the roster is still reeling from the emergence of the New Guard (which may require retro-explanationizing by them tonight), and Lobo/Evans for the Intercontinental title. The rest of the New Guard will compete in non-title matches in keeping with their determination not to allow the "Old Guard/Establishment title shots in favor of defending them against those they deem worthy.
Stank and The World Champion Stan Fulton have been sniping back and forth with Stank bringing his usual special brand ego-centric bravado. He's made it known his intention on taking down the New Guard and his particular disappointment in one time friend Stan Fulton. Fulton let it be known his own disappointment in Stank feeling the Grand Slam Champions he hung out with did nothing for him during their association (Except for LD Williams). The seeds have been sown for a future match between Fulton and Stank though it would have to be non-title per Stank's punishment (Which is fine by me.)
Elsewhere on Mayhem; There is plenty of heat to go around particularly between Matt Folz, and LD Williams, as Folz looks to prove that he is the better wrestler. LD Williams is probably the best wrestler on the OOWF roster so for Folz to prove his worth against LD Williams makes sense. As stated earlier, Chris Evans faces El Lobo Sangriento for the Intercontinental Title. Evans has been pretty quiet about the New Guard stepping up which is probably not a good idea as the one seen as its leader. Lobo lost his last match in singles competetion against his rival Ghosthead, so we'll see if he can get back to form and capture the IC title tonight. J-P Sparxx has been bringing the awesome in his matches and will take on Rabbit Mask in what I'm calling early as the match of the night. The Flying Hawaiians as the biggest twist in the formation of the New Guard, they are taking on the team of Psykle and Ricky Soaring Eagle. I don't know what to make of this makeshift team in Psykle and Eagle, but I would be shocked if they beat the Champs tonight. Psykle has shown some improvement but has a ways to go, and Eagle is just angry which I suppose meshes well with Psykle's rage, but won't likely get them the win. Stan Fulton faces Outback Jack in another representation of New Guard vs Old Guard. Outback Jack is as tough as they come, but does he have what it takes to bring the World Champion down a notch? We will see.
Also tonight The Saints of Sinners take on The Darlings in a feud chock full of hatred. There will be blood and I hope Moose dies... Texpress face Davin Moreland and Stank. The team of Moreland and Stank have seen more wins than not, so Texpress will have their hands full with them tonight... Comrade Sharkoff faces Attitude Adjuster in a battle of Old School goodness, and finally, Eric O'Mac, Firewoman, and Ghosthead square off in a triple threat match that might see a mini feud come out of it.
This all has the makings for a pretty fun, if soley workrate oriented show... there's enough material to work with that I almost think it's a week where the OOWF would almost have to purposely try to antagonize us in order to fumble the ball... so of course: I've now jinxed it, and they will do just that... let's just keep our fingers crossed that the past few weeks haven't been an accident, and somebody higher up in Dayton Towers actually knows what they're doing....
The flOOr is yours, OO Nation. Let your voice be heard and your thoughts on Brand Supremacy be known. Don't wait till after 11pm to post, either. Pre-show previewing and prognosticating is certainly welcome. So discuss, debate, and rate!
