Style: High-flier with strong-style strikes. Leans more toward strong-style when facing women or cruiserweights. Distinctly Japanese style.
Background:
Megumi Muyo was born into a poor but educated household in urban Nagoya, with a mother in her mid-40's and a twelve-year-old brother Junichiro. She did not know her father—her mother never talked about it, and Junichiro never believed it was consensual. Juni began calling her “Mai” when their mother Riko let it slip one day that her father loved the name Megumi. Either way, whoever the man was sent money regularly. In addition, her brother ended up doing odd jobs for low-level Yakuza to help the family pay bills, but left for Yale when he was six.
A couple years later, he struck it rich, and Riko and Mai moved to a much nicer neighborhood. With greater resources, Mai turned out to be a math and physics genius, splitting her time between a fancy international high school and local colleges. Following her brother’s wrestling career closely, particularly his first return to the OOWF that he had founded, she began quietly seeking out female wrestlers who would teach her the craft. With few classes left necessary to graduate, she started splitting her time between school and wrestling more completely, though she continued to put off her professional debut until she felt confident enough that she had surpassed her trainers. She received her OOWF contract quietly from Commissioner Firewoman.
