(started by Chris Cole)
OOWF Tribute to Eddie Guererro
Here is the thread for your in character tributes to Latino Heat.
*************
"Master of Puppets" starts and "The Main Event" Chris Cole walks to the ring wearing his Evolution style wear. Cole walks to the ring with a purpose without his usual crowd interaction. He grabs a mic and stands in the middle of the ring.
Cole: Today, I'm here to honor somebody who I have respected throughout my career. This man has influenced my career and taught me to keep following my dream even if people tell me I'm too small for the big time. Eddie, you will be missed. On behalf of the 3 Piece Set I'd like to say that when when we all leave this world behind you are welcome to come and party with the Set any time. Adios, me amigo.
Cole gives a quick point up and then leaves the ring in silence.

("With Jupiter in Mind" starts, which scrambles and fades into "Low Rider". CTG glides out in a tricked out Impala with a brilliantly colored chassis. He "parks" the low-rider and leaves the keys in the ignition, heading into the ring)
CTG: Suspension or not, I have a right to speak about Eddie Guererro!
Eddie, I may not have known you well, but I, as well as many others, have felt the impact you have made on this business.
As a grand trickster, the loveable rogue whose clever ways and fiery temper endeared you to the millions of fans you still have today, you have inspired many of us to only attempt to achieve the flamboyant charisma that few could ever achieve.
In some places, people would refer to you as "Coyote", trickster of the animal world.
To us, you lied and told us to hate you;
You cheated death and the odds to become a beloved wrestler, a true family man and a class act;
You stole - women's hearts, men's aspirations, and children's dreams, making us all better people.
You are an ideal I can only pray to achieve.
Vaya Con Dios. oh, and keep the low-rider.
(CTG walks away to no music)

<Jack comes to the ring to his normal music, normal attire and everything, he has a t-shirt over his shoulder and something in his other hand>
Jack slips into the ring, takes the t-shirt off his shoulder and lays it on the mat in the center of the ring revealing a "Lie, Cheat and Steal Eddie Gurrero t-shirt" from his other hand, Jack takes a single rose and lays it across the tshirt. Jack looks to the sky, taps his heart with his fist and says "thank you" then slides from the ring and heads to the back.

Capellan comes out without music, just dressed in his jeans and a t-shirt, but with a black armband on.
"Eddie Guerrero lied, stole and cheated his way to the top. You might expect me to look down on him for that." he pauses and waits for the grumbles of confusion to rise into a chant:
"ED-DEE! ED-DEE!"
"But if you did, you'd be wrong." Capellan cuts across the chant, "Everything Eddie did, he did for love of this sport, for love of the fans who cheered him, and for the love of going out there and do everything he could to be the best there is in that ring. Eddie lived his life in the spotlight, but the lights in all our lives will be a little less bright without him. Godspeed, Eddie. You will be missed."
The lights in the arena dim, and Capellan walks out to the back.

*Hardbody Harris' music plays, and he and Fievel come out to "You've Lost that Loving Feeling", their faces covered in tears. They climb in the ring and Hardbody takes a mic.*
"I don't have much to say. Obviously I like to call myself the #1 FACE IN THE OOWF! Well, tonight there's no question that I'll never, ever be the #1 in anything. Eddie was, undisputably, the #1 FACE, HEEL, AND ANYTHING IN BETWEEN...ever."
"Rest in Peace. Your loving feeling will never be gone, gone, gone. No. No. No."

*Chris Alt walks down to the ring, with no music, and takes a mic*
CA: Normally, copyright laws prevent this sort of thing. But there's a little something I wanted all of us to see. If I could turn your attention to the OOWF-tron, please...
*We are treated to the end of WrestleMania XX, where Eddie and Chris Benoit embrace in the ring to end the show. The feed fades to black, and the arena slowly breaks into a THANK YOU EDDIE chant. CA stands in the ring, openly crying*
CA: Eddie, I never had the pleasure of knowing you in person. But I loved you just as much as the rest of us. You left us too soon, amigo. You are missed. Thank you for everything. For all the matches. For the inspiring story. I can't wait to meet you when I leave this world for the next.
*CA lays another rose on the t-shirt beside the one that MHJ left earlier and walks to the back, leaving the crowd to chant THANK YOU EDDIE*

**L.D. Williams walks to the ring and takes the mic**
“You don’t get into this business by accident. Doing what we do takes dedication, commitment, and desire. Eddie Guerrero exemplified all of those traits. More important than his skills in the ring however, were his traits outside of it. Eddie had strength to overcome any obstacle, and faith to face any challenge. Eddie Guerrero made me proud that I share his occupation, and proud that I share his faith.”
**Williams removes the Intercontinental title and looks at the belt.**
“I know this isn’t a world title, and Eddie was far above this level, but this is the tribute I have to give. In my title reign, my career, and most importantly my life, I hope I can live up to the example Eddie set. Thank you, Eddie, and save me a place in the ring.”
**Williams lays the belt next to the shirt Moose laid in the ring and walks to the back.**

<Tommy Wilder, dressed in black jeans, vans, a Eddie G t-shirt and carrying a skateboard climbs into the ring....>
Eddie - too soon, dude. You left us too soon. All the lives you've touched - family, friends, guys you worked with - but especially people you never knew - the millions and millions of us who watched you in the big arenas and small house shows all over the world. You had us in the palm of you hand anytime you wanted, took us all on the ultimate ride - and never let us down.
Heel, babyface. Shit - you were never really a heel, Bro - 'cause we never let you be. Not for long. Not for those of us who love this life, this sport. No matter what, it always ended the same - with all of us chanting your name.
<Crowd: Eddie! Eddie! Eddie!>
And now, we gotta roll on man. We gotta do it without you.
And living up to your standard is gonna be a bitch.
Doing what you do drove me to be what I am today Eddie. I'm gonna do every damn thing I can do so that when I'm out here the crowd will go nuts and you'll be lokking down and saying "Damn Ese - that's some Wild Shit!"
<With that thought, Wilder grins for a moment>
We'll all do our best to take the fans on the ride Eddie. Just like you did. Or as close as we can ever get.
Keep you wheels down, Bro - we'll miss you forever.
Wilder sets the skateboard, with a latin rose and flame motif airbrushed on the deck, next to the T-Shirt and roses - then climbs out of the ring.

JW walks to the ring, climbs in and Grabs a mike.
"I'm not good at this sort of thing, but all i can say is this.... Eddie you are a role model for us all....you prove that with enough drive, ambition and heart we can overcome anything and accomplish our goals.....if everyone put the amount of passion into their lives as Eddie put into this business, the world would be a better place.
JW puts down the mike and climbs out of the ring and heads to the back.

[EricOMac is seen on screen, visibly upset.]
Eric: You know a few years ago, I was watching Smackdown, and I saw Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Perry Saturn, and Dean Malenko come out with Mick Foley, and I was excited. It was the first chance I have ever gotten to witness these wonderful performers. That night, Eddie Guerrero dislocated his elbow in a match, and I was sad, because he was going to sit out for a couple of months.
When he came back, he started a program with Chyna as his girlfriend, and him being the European Champion. He bourght pretiege to that championship like it was never brought to it before. I believe he set the standard for wearing that belt all the way until it was retired.
When he won the Intercontinental Title the first time, it put a smile on my face, as he was being elevated to another level - however, a hamstring injury ended his title run, and again, I was sad, because I wanted to see him perform.
A few months later, he was released, due to personal problems and demons, and again, I was saddened by this, since I wouldn't have a chance to see him perform.
The problem in all this wasn't Eddie - it was me. I was selfish enough to care more about him performing for me than his well-being.
Sometimes, when we look at other wrestlers, we see them as our puppets, our entertainers, they are only there for us. And it's true, they live and work to perform for the fans - they also have another reason to live.
I did not know Eddie Guerrero personally. I was never blessed to be in his prescense, but I've heard many stories about him and his personaity.
He performed for the fans, and worked for that - that's why he wanted to become a wrestler. But he was a family man as well.
He is an inspiration to the world - he showed that a man could be as low as possible and still have a chance to turn his life around. He gave up the drinking, he gave up the painkillers, and he did it, not only to perform for us, but for his wife, his little girls, his family.
And when he turned his life around, he gave his life to Christ - and that gives me assurance that one day I will meet him. People don't talk about God in wrestling, but I assure you that God is with Eddie Guerrero. God is with his family, and God will pull us all through in these desperate times.
Eddie Guerrero was a great man. It is an honor to memorilize him. It is an honor to use the frog splash as my finisher - in memory of him.
Eddie Guerrero will be missed - I'm hoping I can be half the man he became.
God bless you Eddie - you are loved and missed.
[End scene.]

*The camera zooms in on the entrance way as a low-rider modified Batmobile comes out to the entrance area. It stops half way to the ring, and then starts to bounce. The top opens and out comes Canadian Dragon.*
CD: "Life is funny. You see, this business at times is like an obsession. You start a feud, or an angle, or some type of gimmick and you do everything you can for it. Well Eddie Guerrero wasn't obsessed with some gimmick or angle...he was obsessed with life."
*CD takes off the OOWF title and lays it across the modified Batmobile.*
CD: "That title is suppose to mean that I am the best wrestler today. That inside the ring, I am the best. But Eddie didn't need to have gold around his waist for everyone to know how good he was, how special he was. You will be missed Eddie...Vaya Con Dios"
*CD stops talking. He pauses for a moment, then removes his mask and palces it on the low-rider Batmobile as well. He looks up to the sky before walking to the back.*

A pre-taped tribute segment featuring Seraph appears on the OOTron.
Seraph is wearing simple khakis and a blue polo shirt. He looks broken, unfocused, distraught and uncharactaristically Human.
Seraph: Eddie... A lot has been already said, and will continue to be said about the type of worker, the caliber of wrestler and the class of performer that you were. People have been recounting their favourite moments, their favourite angles and favourite matches - you made it all seem so easy.
And while you very well may have been one of the best damn wrestlers to ever step into a professional ring and dazzle the fans with your skill and charisma - the world has not lost a great wrestler - the world has lost a great man.
Eddie, all of your accolades, all of your championships, all of your famous moments are nothing compared to the great legacy you left in every person that got to know you. Your beautiful wife, your three precious little girls, your friends, your faith, your victory over life - those are the things that matter in the light of the eternity that you've embarked upon. They are your greatest accolades, they are your finest acheivements and they are the most valuable things that you left us to remember you by.
Not as a wrestler, not as a character, not as a performer, but as one man to another today, I thank you for showing us all how it's supposed to be done. Jesus needed a main eventer, so Eddie, you got called up to the big leagues. God bless.

Black Dragon enters to his standard theme dressed in black jeans and an "Eddie Guerrerro Is My Favorite Wrestler" t-shirt. His is visbily emotional as he gets in the ring. Tears stream down his face as he grabs the mic. He false starts a couple of times before begining.
"I just wanted to say, from the bottom of my heart, that I love you man. I dedicate my next match to your memory. You were without a doubt an inspiration. You were a driving force, a reason to lace up my boots despite the wear and tear of match after match. You meant so much to me and I regretfully never got to meet you. Never got to stand on the opposite side of a ring with you. So God willing, we'll have that match together one day. See you there. Te quiero mi amigo. Te quiero"
Black Dragon wipes away the tears as "Lie, Cheat, and Steal" plays over the loud speaker. He climbs to a corner and slaps his chest then holds out the shirt as it gets a close up on the words. The chants of "Eddie, Eddie, Eddie" fill the arena.

As blackdragon walks to the bag, his tag team partner, The Underdawg walks solemnly to the ring. He is draped in the Mexican flag.
UD: Eduardo Gory Guerrero. Has sido una inspiración. Mucho aprecio lo que has hecho para todos nosotros, y la lucha avienta alrededor del mundo. Le faltaremos por siempre, hermano. Resto... en... paz.

The TFDU comes out lead by WBK in an all-black version of his pimp suit. OBJ and GB place 2 "Eddie Guerrero is my favorite wrestler" shirts on the mat, lay the tag belts on them, bow their heads, and roll out of the ring.

## Thim walk somberly down to the ring.
Eddie, you were an inspiration to so many people. Look at us here . . . we've got an Onslaught Championship dedicated to pure wrestling - something you excelled at. We've got guys cutting promos here that make you fall off your chair at work - something you'd manage with staggering regularity, and we've got guys kicking the hell out of each other something else you could turn to and prove once again that you were brilliantly convincing at anything you wanted to do.
We all lie, cheat and steal, but no one does it quite like you did . . . the British Ambasador to the US once said that grief is the price you pay for love . . . my god Eddie, look at how much people loved you . . .
## With that Thim removes his elbow pad and lies it onto the incrreasingly large pile in the center of the ring and leaves . . .
