OOWF MidWeek Mayhem
Live! From Isafjordhur, Iceland
CARL FROM FRESNO & MARK VANDER vs. BALDR SIGURBJORNSSON & STEVE THE VIKING
Baldr Sigurbjornsson is a former competitor on the World’s Strongest Man, and Steve the Viking is the Frontier League Icelandic Grappling Honor Title Light Heavyweight Champion. Carl From Fresno comes out to the top of the ramp to a nice ovation, then pauses as Mark Vander comes out making his return to the OOWF. Vander gets a nice cheer from the Iceland OOWF fans and they head to the ring together. They step between the ropes and it looks like this one is ready to start with Carl facing Baldr in the battle of the big men. The two meet in the center of the ring and Baldr challenges Carl to take him to the mat with a shoulder block, so Carl hits the ropes and rebounds with a shoulder block, but he bounces right off of Baldr and hits the mat. Carl gets to his feet and looks impressed. Carl challenges Baldr to do the same and the big man hits the ropes and charges for a shoulder block, but Carl sidesteps and Mark Vander propels himself off the apron into the ring with a clothesline that nearly takes Baldr out of his boots. Carl pulls Baldr to his feet and slams him on the mat and tags Vander in. Mark comes in and drops an elbow across Baldr’s chest, and covers, but Baldr powers out with authority after one. Vander pulls Baldr to his feet and tries a whip to the ropes, but he reverses it and catches Vander with a power slam, then tags in Steve the Viking. Steve climbs to the top rope and Baldr throws him from the top but Mark Vander catches him and reverses it into a GO TO SLEEP! He nearly knocks Steve’s head off his shoulders! Vander pulls Steve to his feet and sends him to the ropes and buries a knee into his mid section, then takes him over with a tilt a whirl suplex. Vander covers and gets a two count, Baldr breaks up the pin before the ref hits three. Undaunted Vander pulls Steve to his feet and sends him to the corner, but Steve climbs the ropes and catches Vander with a whisper in the wind for a one count. Both men get to their feet and Steve springs off the bottom rope and tries a back elbow, but Vander catches him and plants him on the mat with a choke slam, then tags Carl back into the match. Carl pulls Steve to his feet and hauls him up for a power bomb, then runs him into the corner back first. Steve staggers forward and Carl hits the ropes and connects with a flying foot to the face. Steve is dead. No really, for real this time, dead. Carl covers, but the not-quite-dead Steve kicks out at two. Carl pulls him to his feet and sends him to the ropes and catches him with a black hole slam (the Fresno Tornado). Carl tags in Vander and he waits for Steve to struggle to his feet, when he does, Vander nearly decapitates him with a Clothesline from Hell, covers, and gets the one, two, three with Carl cutting off Baldr before he can make the save.
WINNERS in 6:12 – Carl From Fresno & Mark Vander
IHOP vs. BLITZ & VOLTAGE
Jobber Blitz and Jobber Voltage come to the ring with no entrance. They don’t really acknowledge anything, or each other. They just kind of stand there with a glassy, far away look in their eyes. Like they’re thinking of what they were once. Or the boo box. Or Degrassi. They’re thinking of pretty much anything other than the present time.
Kid Rock’s “Bawitdaba” fires up and the crowd acknowledges it with a little pop, mainly because IHOP at least got music. Skurge and SYB stroll to the ring but they look weird too. Not glassy eyed like the Jobbers, just, weird. It’s Solly who’s acknowledging the crowd and slapping hands, and Skurge who’s just kind of ignoring them. Weird. IHOP poses a bit on the turnbuckles before deciding SYB will go first. Referee Junior Hale starts yelling at Jobber Blitz and Jobber Voltage to pick someone to go first. Blitz and Voltage seem unresponsive, so Hale kind of pushes Jobber Voltage, who was closest to the rope, to the corner, and Jobber Blitz will apparently start. That’s good enough for Junior Hale who calls for the bell…WE’RE UNDERWAY!
SYB aggressively runs across the ring and starts assaulting Jobber Blitz with Chops. And More Chops. Chopitty Chop Chop Chop. Probably about 12 Chops altogether before Blitz is actually bleeding from the chest. SYB hits a Release Belly-to-Belly and looks to start suplexing. German Suplex! German Suplex! Snap Suplex! Northern Lights Suplex (no bridge)! Delayed Vertical Suplex! Big Elbow Drop! SYB runs over to Skurge and starts to yell at him to get in the ring, and he tags him in. Skurge looks a bit apprehensive but goes over anyway. Skurge quickly covers: 1, 2, thr…NO! Somehow Jobber Blitz kicked out! Skurge picks up Jobber Blitz, pokes him in the eye and slaps the taste out of his mouth. Jobber Blitz staggers backwards and unintentionally runs into Jobber Voltage. Hale signals the legal tag!
Skurge drills Jobber Voltage with a swift kick to the balls out of the vision of Hale. Was that the Jersey Turnpike? Isn’t that SYB’s move? He pulls Jobber Voltage in the hard way and runs to tag SYB back in, apparently for some double-team moves. Hale thinks he should count, but he’s not really motivated to do so. SYB sets Jobber Voltage on His shoulders. What strength from the little man! Skurge runs the ropes…SUPER STACKER! IHOP hops opposite turnbuckles…INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT~!~!!~~SYB pulls Jobber Blitz into the ring, and they hit the SMOKEHOUSE COMBO. Hale asks someone to cover, and SYB tells Skurge to do it…He does: 1, 2, 3. It’s over.
WINNER in 4:56 by ATTEMPTED MURDER – IHOP!
OUTBACK JACK vs. RYAN HARDCORE
OBJ comes to the ring like a man on a mission, immediately charging Hardcore and hammering him with big right hand and brutal forearm shots. Ryan does what he can to cover up, but OBJ seems to have decided that he's not being paid by the hour, as he drives the smaller man to the man with clubbing blows, then stomps a mudhole in him. I think my wrestling cliché counter just broke. Hardcore finally manages to scramble to the ropes and hangs on to them for dear life. That's really a bit soft core on his part, if you ask me. It does give him some space to finally get his bearings, though, and when OBJ charges in again, RH is ready with the drop-toe hold, sending Jack crashing into the turnbuckle. Hardcore hops up into the corner and hits some double-stomps to the dazed OBJ's back, but it after a few minutes the bigger man surges to his feet, knocking Hardcore to the mat. Jack tries to drop an elbow, but Hardcore rolls out of the way and kips to his feet. OBJ's up. He charges. Hardcore with the Ricky Steamboat armdrag! It looked so good they do it again. Going to the well a third time, however, proves a mistake for RH as Jack puts on the breaks and lets Hardcore drag arm, rather than air. NOW OBJ hits the elbow drop, then a cover for two. No real chance of a pin there, but it forces RH to kick out. The smaller man fire up, however, and goes on the offensive, targeting Jack's leg with a series of kicks, a dragon screw or three, and finally a frog splash right to the knee. It's an extended sequence of speed dominating power, and the crowd pops like Hardcore is Rey-Rey toppling the Big Show ... right up until the moment that he springboards straight into an ALMIGHTY power bomb. (Seriously, it's that's good. God himself did not produce a power bomb like this when he fought Vince McMahon, so I must be right about this). A dazed Hardcore finds himself locked in the Croc Hunter, and taps out after it becomes clear he simply can't get the bigger man off him.
WINNER BY SUBMISSION IN 8:33 – OUTBACK JACK!
FIREWOMAN vs. THE NERVE AGENT
The Nerves Agent is out first, to some music no one recognizes. It could be new music. It could be his old music. No one remembers what his music was anyway. The crowd also doesn’t remember if he’s a heel or a face, so they instead remain absolutely silent. It’s eerie, actually. He climbs in the ring wondering why he’s getting no reaction when Blitz comes down to the ring in support of his teammate? TNA grabs a mic.
TNA: What are you doing here?
B: Supporting my tag team partner.
TNA: You’re not my tag team partner.
B: I’m not?
TNA: No.
B: When did this happen?
TNA: A while ago.
B: Oh. Who turned on who?
TNA: I turned on you.
B: Oh.
TNA: Why does no one remember this? It was a big storyline! A Big Deal!
B: Oh, no it wasn’t.
TNA: Wasn’t it?
B: No. No one really cares, actually.
TNA: That’s why the crowd’s quiet?
B: Pretty much.
TNA: Oh.
B: And hey, guess what?
TNA: What?
Blitz MURDERS TNA with a clothesline and a SPRINGBOARD MOONSAULT with a couple of punches to the face. Junior Hale tries to intervene, but he’s too late, probably because he’s not a good referee. Blitz re-grabs the mic.
B: That’s for turning on me. Jerl.
Blitz drops the mic to the apathy of the crowd, and heads up the ramp. The lights go down as The Cult blasts through the speakers. Flame pots, a new addition, go off on
either side of the ramp, as Firewoman walks out energetically, with her valet, Lucky. It's Lucky's first ring entrance, and he's is awed by the lights, the music, the crowd. The lights reflect off of Firewoman's trademark red hair...but wait! Her hairs not red anymore. It's black? What is the meaning of this change? Is it her membership in the goth-inspired DEA? And more importantly, was it cleared by OOWF management? We'll have to wait to find out the answers until after the match. She rolls into the ring to the cheers of the crowd, which doesn’t really sparkle with her, because she’s trying to be a heel. Firewoman does some “I’m a heel” posing, but that doesn’t really make a difference, and the crowd just cheers louder. The Nerves Agent is just now getting to his knees and looks over at Firewoman with a look of dread. Hale apparently thinks this is close enough, and WE’RE UNDERWAY!
Fire charges the just-now standing TNA, and drives him into the turnbuckle. She hits a couple of shoulder blocks before doing a handstand and hitting a HURRACANRANA out of the corner. She hops up the turnbuckle and hits the BFE! TNA is probably dead. Fire is not done. SPRINGBOARD SENTON. She hops the turnbuckle again, SHOOTING STAR PRESS! STANDING 360 KNEE DROP TO THE NOSE! She runs the ropes again, FIRESAULT! She hooks the leg. 1, 2, She PULLS TNA OFF THE MAT! Now that’s heelish. She rolls TNA onto his stomach, and SMASHES his face off the mat 3 or 4 times, and TNA is bleeding. She runs the ropes again, SPLIT-LEGGED SPRINGBOARD MOONSAULT! Fire makes the Universal “It’s Over” signal, and goes to TNA’s legs, and locks in the WALLS OF FIREWOMAN~! They’re right in the middle of the ring, and TNA has no chance. The beaten, bloodied and nearly dead TNA comes to momentarily, just long enough to tap out and start crying like a little girl.
WINNER in 4:37 by SUBMISSION…FIREWOMAN!
Firewoman takes a second to taunt TNA, and get her hand raised before heading back up the ramp. Paramedics are called in for assistance on The Nerves Agent.
THE DEAD vs. FIRECHILD
Doomsday Clock by Smashing Pumpkins hits the sound system as images of evil, undead beings light up the OOWFtron. As the guitar kicks in The Dead appears at the top of the ramp and is immediately showered in boos by the Icelandic crowd. The Dead slowly makes his way down the ramp completely ignoring the crowd. That is, until he nears the ring and sees a fan holding up a sign that says "Fear The Flame!". The Dead immediately grabs the sign and rips it in half, all the while without a change of expression on his face. The crowd boo's even louder as The Dead steps into the ring and leans against a corner, waiting for his opponent. Soon an explosion of fire engulfs the top of the entrance ramp and Firechild runs out to wild applause from the crowd. He high-fives as many people as he can on his way down the ramp, and stops when he comes to the fan who had his sign ripped in half. Firechild picks up the two pieces off the ground, signs them both and hands them back to the fan. The fan shakes Firechild's hand and roots him on as Firechild jumps into the ring.
The bell rings and Firechild offers his hand to The Dead. The Dead simply laughs in Firechild's face and kicks him in the stomach. Firechild doubles over and The Dead takes advantage with a few knees to the face. Firechild takes a few to the head before countering into a jawbreaker that stuns The Dead. Firechild attempts a clothesline, but The Dead ducks it. However Firechild is one step ahead and drops The Dead with a neck breaker. The Dead hits the ground holding the back of his head. Firechild follows up with a running knee drop and goes for the cover. He only gets a one count and decides to pick The Dead up. The Dead thumbs Firechild in the eye and seeks to regain the advantage. The Dead whips Firechild into the ropes and catches him with a drop toe hold on the rebound. The Dead floats over and locks in a front face lock. It looks more like a blatant choke, but the referee can't get a good angle to see. Firechild tries to fight back to his feet, but he has no leverage as The Dead leans on him harder. Eventually the referee does get a clean look at the hold and tells The Dead to release it. The Dead uses up 4.9 seconds of the five count before letting go. Firechild is trying to catch his breath as The Dead moves in for the kill. Firechild was playing possum, however, and catches The Dead in a quick roll-up! One...Two...The Dead kicks out. This one was almost over. The Dead is furious and doesn't see Firechild in time to avoid a bulldog that makes The Dead fly face first into the mat. The crowd roars in approval as Firechild continues the assault. As The Dead staggers to his feet Firechild lays in a few heavy left and right hands, staggering The Dead. Firechild sees an opening and hits a missile dropkick that sends The Dead slumping into the corner. The Dead slowly pulls himself to his feet as Firechild charges in. The Dead flips over the top rope and onto the apron just in time and Firechild crashes chest-first into the turnbuckle. The Dead springboards off the top rope and catches Firechild with a vicious looking knee to the head. Firechild goes down in a heap as The Dead tries to regain his composure. The Dead moves toward Firechild as Firechild gets to his feet. The two trade punches and then The Dead whips Firechild into the ropes. The Dead looks like he's trying for a backdrop, but Firechild flips/rolls over Dead's back and hits the ropes again. The Dead turns around in time to see Firechild coming at him with a clothesline. The Dead tries to grab Firechild's arm and turn it into a DDT but Firechild shoves The Dead off. Firechild goes for a leg sweep, which The Dead jumps. The Dead attempts a short-arm clothesline but Firechild ducks it. Firechild attempts a suplex and The Dead flips out of it and lands on his feet. The Dead tries a suplex of his own, and not to be outdone Firechild flips out of the attempt. The two combatants stare at each other as a "OMG~! WORKRATE!" round of applause echoes throughout the crowd. The Dead, as is his nature, ruins this moment by spitting in Firechild's face. The cheers immediately turn to boos as Firechild stumbles trying to regain his vision. The Dead takes advantage and begins kicking Firechild in the ribs and legs, trying to wear him down. Firechild goes down to one knee and he looks winded. The Dead backs up and measures Firechild before charging in. It looks like The Dead is going for a running knee to the head. At the last moment Firechild moves out of the way and trips up The Dead, sending him throat first into the second rope. After catching his breath for a moment Firechild capitalizes by jumping over the top rope and grabbing The Dead's head on the way down, causing The Dead's head to violently bounce off the rope and send The Dead bouncing back into the middle of the ring. The Dead looks like he's having trouble breathing as Firechild slowly gets back to his feet and climbs to the top rope. The crowd cheers as Firechild flies off the top and goes for a frogsplash. Unfortunately for Firechild, The Dead gets his knees up just in time and Firechild crashes and burns. Both men are having a hard time getting to their feet, but eventually The Dead crawls over and covers Firechild. One...Two...Firechild kicks out! The Dead slowly makes his way to his feet and pulls Firechild up with him. The Dead attempts to whip Firechild into the ropes, but Firechild counters and sends The Dead toward the ropes. The Dead springs off the second rope and plants Firechild with a springboard DDT! Cover. One...Two...Thr..Firechild kicks out again! The Dead lays on his back and tries to catch his breath for a moment until he sees Firechild starting to move. Firechild uses the ropes to help pull himself up and gets to his feet a second before The Dead. The Dead tries to ward off Firechild with a punch, but Firechild blocks it. The Dead tries again and Firechild blocks it again but this time throws a punch of his own. The punch lands cleanly and The Dead's head snaps back. Firechild throws another punch, and another, and another. They all land squarely on the jaw of The Dead. The Dead looks like he's out on his feet as Firechild charges and connects with a spinning heel kick. Not content to settle just for that Firechild continues the offensive. Firechild whips The Dead into the ropes and connects with a beautiful looking dropkick. Firechild goes for the cover. One...Two...The Dead kicks out! Both of these men have been giving it their all. The Dead staggers to his feet in time to see Firechild charging in, and The Dead is able to catch him with a huge belly-to-belly suplex. Both men are now back on the mat and the referee begins a 10 count. Firechild gets to his feet at eight and The Dead staggers to his a moment later. Firechild seems to have caught a bit of a second wind and goes after The Dead, knowing now might be his best chance to finish the match. Firechild takes Dead out with a clothesline. The Dead gets back to his feet just in time to eat another clothesline. Firechild is, no pun intended, on fire! The Dead staggers to his feet once again and Firechild whips him toward the ropes. Firechild connects with a flying forearm that sends The Dead stumbling back into the ropes once again. This time Firechild grabs The Dead and sets him up for the DevilDriver! This could be it! Firechild picks up The Dead, but The Dead slips out of it and lands on his feet. Firechild turns around and...CTC!! The kick snaps Firechild's neck back and he hits the mat hard. The Dead seems staggers for a moment and then slumps over on top of Firechild for the cover. One...Two...Three.

WINNER - NO CONTEST in 16:48
DAVIN MORELAND vs. ECOSYSTEM
Ecosystem is out first with a confused look on his face. The crowd kinda cheers for him, with some boos scattered throughout. Eco slides into the ring and poses to a little pop, and the confused look gets more intense. Referee Angelo Barros looks at him strangely and asks to check his boots. “Pull Me Under” fires up through the PA, and apparently Isafjordhur brought plenty of Pyro to fire off, because it looks like a fireworks factory exploded as Davin Moreland comes through the smoke to a Mega-Pop. He raises his arms and proceeds down the ramp. He slaps hands with the fans and gives some 7-year old kid his Red Sox hat. Aww. Moreland does the impressive two hops from the floor to inside the ring, and poses on all 4 turnbuckles. He points to Eco, and makes some broad gestures which appear to mean “I remember you hitting me with a chair a few months ago”. Eco gulps. Barros calls for the bell, and WE’RE UNDERWAY!
Lockup to start and Moreland easily drives the smaller Eco back to the turnbuckle. A surprisingly clean break leads to another lock up. Davin shoves Eco into the corner this time and unleashes 3 or 4 chops. Whip to the other side turns into an Irish Whip, and Eco gets enough momentum to send Davin in the hard way. Eco follows up with a Shoulder Splash and does a neat spot where he hops on Davin’s shoulders, turns around, and smashes Davin’s face off the turnbuckle as he lands on the floor. The crowd liked that one and shows their appreciation. Eco back in quickly and hits a Double Leg takedown from behind the staggering Moreland. Eco rolls through and hits a STANDING SENTON! Eco floats to a Thesz Press position and throws haymakers at Davin’s Dome Piece. Lefts and rights just DRILLING the big man until Eco’s arms get tired. He goes to cover: 1, 2, No. Davin kicks out and rolls to his stomach. Eco takes advantage and grabs Moreland’s arms while standing on his back. Uh oh. CURBSTOMP! Ouch. ANOTHER CURBSTOMP! And ANOTHER!~! A Triple Curbstomp! Eco rolls Moreland over, 1, 2, th-NO! Davin just kicked out in time, but he is leaking blood something awful. Eco slaps the mat and glares at Barros who just holds up two fingers at him, calmly. Eco takes a second to think, and then runs the far ropes looking for a move. Moreland staggers to his feet just as Eco flies at him with a FLYING CROSSBODY. Davin catches him in mid-air, and hits a DOMINATOR! Both men are down, and Barros starts a count.
Eco up first, and runs the ropes and DRILLS Davin with a FLYING BURRITO! Eco rolls through and hops the turnbuckle for a FROGSPLASH! Cover: 1, 2, th-NO! Eco can’t put the big man away. Eco quickly locks on a Fujiwara Armbar, and boy does he have it locked. They’re in the middle of the ring, and Davin is in TROUBLE. Wait, what’s Moreland doing? He’s trying to stand up! He’s on his feet and Eco STILL has the Fujiwara Armbar locked in! He’s lifting the arm up and over his head! Eco is across Davin’s shoulders STILL with the hold applied. What Power! Davin is screaming in pain, but he hefts Eco up…DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! Eco finally breaks the hold and Davin rolls to the outside, trying to shake his arm out and get the feeling back. Eco stirs and stands in the ring and looks for Davin, finally spotting him on the outside. Davin sees him coming, and one hops the apron, catching Eco a step slow, and he takes him out the hard way with a BIIIIIIG DELAYED VERTICAL SUPLEX TO THE OUTSIDE! Crowd “That was awesome”s on that one. Eco is obviously in pain, and Davin is still trying to recover a bit as he gets to Eco. He pulls Eco to his feet and WHIPS HIM INTO THE RINGPOST! Eco staggers backward and Davin hits a RELEASE GERMAN SUPLEX! Eco is hurting! Davin grabs Eco’s legs…MONKEY FLIP INTO THE RINGPOST! Eco is teetering backward, and Davin hits a SWINGING NECKBREAKER! Davin picks up the loopy Eco and puts him on the ring apron by the turnbuckle. Davin one-hops the turnbuckle. He picks up Eco and gets him in a Military Press from the top…and HITS AN ELEVATED ANTOINE DIAMOND CUTTER~! Goodnight Eco! Davin doesn’t cover. Instead he pulls a done Eco to his feet and locks in a REAR NAKED CHOKE! Eco comes to and TAPS!

It’s over.
